Nurses Job Hunt

Updated:   Published

Has anybody else applied for Providence Holy Cross in Mission Hills for June 2023 cohort?

I interviewed 03/23 and they said in ~2weeks we will hear back. I wanted to start this thread to share our process through this ?

Hey! I interviewed for st Jude and st joes. Got ED at st joes.

Both were panel interviews and asked for top 3 units of interest. St Jude actually gave me a scenario and asked some basic questions: what med would you recommend, sbar, etc. st Joseph was a panel interview as well but they separated it based off of units. Each room had around 3-8 nurse managers (from different units) who would sit in on the interview and ask questions. They separated it based on various med surg units, ICU/step down/ED, labor delivery, etc. You go to 3 rooms and do a really quick 5-10 min interview (maybe even shorter tbh) and rotate until your done. It's all really straight forward behavioral questions. The ED/ICU interview asked one nursing question about "what med would you give for this scenario". Hope this helps haha. Message me for any other questions

oh wow! I tried messaging you but it will not allow me until I reach a certain amount of post ? (I think)

do you have any tips ? or anything you think made you stand out for the ED? Also do you remember what medication it was lolol

wow that does sound pretty tough haha! Thank you for the insight! Are you currently working at providence?

I will be come next week! I'm really excited.

Yes the interviews were tough, but they were friendly.

Does anyone have any insight on the schedule? I was told I would receive one from HR but all I have is what we do in the first day (which is online?). Emailed and still haven't received any info...

Same here! I haven't heard anything. What hospital?

St joseph, you?

Is the virtual online orientation for first day done at home?

I received the Orientation email for St. Joe's - Orange. While it doesn't explicitly state that the virtual portion is "at home" the timeline provided said we have a lunch break from 11:30a - 12:30p in which we are to use the time to eat and travel to our hospital sites for the in-person portion of orientation. Based on the info provided, I would think we begin our day at home and then travel to our sites.

Hello, thanks! Ironically, right after my post, I received an email with all the details. Yes, I'm assuming the first half of the day is done at home.

For those at LCOM-Torrance. The first day on Monday is just self-paced online modules, right? We aren't doing a teams meeting or going in person? I know it depends on the department, but I don't want to miss anything.

I believe all of the new hires who aren't already employed at Providence will have a new caregiver orientation! I can't remember if it's self-paced, but hopefully they'll email you soon if you have to attend an in-person session.
