I just wanted to create a forum for those applying to Providence TIP RN Residency program for new grads applying to the 2024cohort. I know the application opens soon, so I wanted to create this forum so we can discuss the application process, interviews, and more!! ☺️

Nights are what you make it, yes it can be rough but it's a better time to learn if you're new. Also you can't flip flop between days and nights if you're nighshift. How many shifts did you do that it affected your mental health? Wow. Good luck
I just accepted a new grad position on night shift, hoping to switch to days ASAP. What do you mean about flip flopping? Like you have to be awake 7pm-7am on your days off too?

Burbank starts their new grads at base pay of $53.45 with a night differential of $5.75. Not sure about other providence but that's what my friend was offered for Oncology. I got offered the same base pay at Burbank but no differential since I was offered the day shift position.

More or less you want to stay on a 7p-7a schedule on your days off too. Maybe move it by a couple hours but I wouldn't deviate too much on your days off. What works for some doesn't work for others and vice versa. Google will give you a lot of insight on transitioning and working night shift as well. Flip flopping is hard -

Mission Viejo starts new grads at $45

Wow $45? That's insanely low. I heard that Burbank is the most paying across SoCal. It's also under union so you'll be getting your raises yearly. My sister was part of the previous new grad cohort and was started at $50.90 base, now she's also at $53.45 plus her differential, only working 4 months.

In orange county the hospitals are offering $45 as base pay. Only hospital I know of offering more is UCI and probably Kaiser. Everything else is lower than San Diego and LA even though a 1bd is like 2800

It's all insanely low. Providence is one of the lowest paying hospitals in California

It's not just Providence, it's Orange County in general. Hoag in Newport Beach and Saddleback Memorial in Laguna Hills (also Orange Coast Memorial in Fountain Valley) also pay $45 to start. That's almost all of the hospitals

Sad. I lived in Tampa where the pay is horrific also. Started out as a new grad 8 years ago at $21.

I have a friend who just got hired into a new grad program in San Diego and the base pay is $57 with a $6 differential. That's the highest I've heard so far.
