Has anyone required or discussed requiring proof of immunity to measles from staff? My district is discussing this.
thanks

I approached my boss with the idea of just sending out an email to staff asking them to locate theirs in the event that we would need it. (There was an outbreak in a daycare about 90 miles away.) He spoke with the supt and the supt said no. Will probably never be needed but if it is...don't say I didn't warn you!

No talk in our district right now.

I don't think you'll ever see such a requirement. Since it wasn't a condition of employment, any "new" requirements will have to be financed by the district; mainly titers for all us oldies and those who can't provide an immunization record. Then they'd need to decide to pay to immunize those who had a negative titer...and on and on...

We sent out an email to staff asking them to check their own personal shot records to see if they are fully immunized. We are offering titers/vaccine at our employee health clinic free of cost.
Just an update--we have asked staff to voluntarily supply proof of immunity and are offering a MMR through our insurance for those who only had one.

No discussion of requiring proof - though every fall we have district wide flu shot clinics - the company that comes in will also do routine immunizations if needed so we encourage employees to check their immunization history & encourage them to get whatever they need.
