  1. Just emailed and gave up my spot at SAC, they probably won't see it and fill the space until Monday. Good luck to whoever get this spot!
  2. i had asked about that "random selection" thing they wrote on the website, but the people in the office told me that they never do that. they always just go by highest points. I know they had a lot of declines for spring, so keep you hopes up!!
  3. Along with the biology and eng 100 prereqs, you also have to take these for the ADN, and it's beneficial to have them done ahead of time. Psychology G118Communication G110Math G160 Sociology G100English G110
  4. Maybe they give priority for certain things, like degrees, TEAS score, or classes completed. Don't give up hope!!
  5. I talked to some of my friends who are either in, or just finished the program at gwc, and I decided not to take pharm this summer. I've taken everything else that is required so I'm just taking care of all the pre enrollment requirements, working, and saving money until I have to cut my hours for the program. i believe i had 60 or 60.5 points. For those of you still on the alternate list: They had almost half their spring class decline. I guess they got accepted elsewhere in the fall. so keep your spirits high, and get those classes done asap!
  6. Hey everyone!! just got an email, i got into the fall 2016 class from the alternate list!!! so excited!!!! time to get some vaccinations lol
  7. registration for sac starts tomorrow. If you login to your webadvisor account, click student and registration status, you'll see you're date.
  8. Did they already call you for spring? You should make a pros and cons list. It may be beneficial for your personal situation to wait for reasons like @digsthedirt said: money, classes, distance, whatever it may be. If GWC called for fall, then of course take it. But personally, I wouldn't wait. I'd chose which ever is sooner because I have all those things completed. GWC is the better program. They have had up to 15% higher NCLEX passing rates than SAC had in the past 3 years. If you really prefer GWC, and really don't mind waiting that time or even benefit from it, it is an amazing program.
  9. If you take a look at your acceptance letter it says May 27th at 4pm, otherwise your spot will be given to an alternate.
  10. you'll find all that out at the gwc orientation, which is being planned. and friday orientation for sac. Check out the student handbook, it will answer most of your questions. this is from page 41. https://sac.edu/AcademicProgs/ScienceMathHealth/Nursing/Documents/sac-nursing-student-guidebook-2015-16.pdf "Immunization documentation/requirements include: • MMR titers – positive or vaccinations in progress following negative titers • Varicella titer – positive or vaccinations in progress following negative titer • Hepatitis immunization – positive titer, vaccinations in process, ore declined • Tdap – received • Complete Blood Count and Urinalysis – completed • Influenza vaccination – received or declined • Annual TB testing – negative results or negative chest x-ray every 4 years. If a chest x-ray is needed for TB results, the student will submit chest x-ray results every 4 years with a negative symptomatology review every year as part of the physical."
  11. A couple years ago they called alternates all the way up until July to start in August.
  12. The new curriculum will not be put into effect until spring 2017. Summer registration for sac opens up may 13th, so it depends on your registration date.
  13. You don't have to take it before 1st semester, but you do have to take it before starting the second semester. So you'd have to take those along with the nursing class. That might be a bit tough though.
  14. @digsthedirt sac doesn't accept pharm from GWC
  15. That's a difficult situation. Golden west does have better scores but sac starts 6 months sooner. If I was in that situation, I would choose SAC. GWC is my home school but it's more about the student work. Buckle down and pour your heart into it.
  16. I did get accepted this semester, I had gotten more experience so I had more points this time around. I haven't taken them yet, I'm going to take them this summer.
  17. CONGRATS!! I was number 11 last semester and didn't get in. How many points did you have???? A couple years ago, they went through the entire alternate list, and they had to call people they hadn't even accepted! I'll keep my fingers crossed for one of my friends.
  18. Last semester it was 40
  19. Do you know what day in June??
  20. A friend of mine who graduates GWC program this month said that over half her class were alternates. I think they will be acting fast. Students need to start getting ready with things like vaccinations, which take a few months. Those need to be done quickly before they can even start the program. They'll probably start calling people next Wednesday if they have drops for fall yet. For those of you waiting to hear from CSUs, when will you know by?
  21. Finally got my letter! I'm an alternate.
  22. They do take your preference into consideration. But if they don't have enough students who want ecp they will pull from the traditional program
  23. I called the office, they said all the letters were sent the same day. So if you haven't gotten one, it's not about what the letter says, it's about how fast your mail carrier walks. I'm going to wait for mine outside tomorrow. Maybe follow him around the neighborhood. Keep your chins up!
  24. It does kinda seem like that. Ugh!!!! I don't know what to think. It shouldn't take a week for a letter to get to Santa Ana (92707) from HB. Just gonna try to do things to keep my mind off of it until tomorrow.
