  1. Prospective student here, but I haven't found much. I'm also wondering how much time we will have to spend away from Augusta for the clinical rotations. They briefly went over it in the interviews, but not too much.
  2. Thanks for replying. Is the mentoring system something new? I think I vaguely heard one of the students mention something about it at the interview, but not much.
  3. Did you interview on the morning of March 21st? I wonder if we met that day.
  4. I definitely agree. I'm sure it's a tough decision for the professors to make and not a job I would like to have. How are you liking the program so far. Does it seem doable? Able to have a bit of a life outside of studying? I was going to try to work a couple days a month for the 1st year. Any of your classmates working?
  5. I did have a pending app out at another school, but it's not something that came up in my interview. I'm honestly not sure, but maybe they had a few they chose to select earlier. Until seeing the post that someone else has gotten accepted, I thought maybe it was a mistake for a while. I called admissions and Ms. Lewis to make sure.
  6. I don't think there is anyway to prepare other than to try to relax and be yourself. Mine had no clinical questions so nothing to study for to prepare.
  7. 1st an email from the office of admissions. The email said to expect a packet in the mail in the coming weeks. I waited and waited on the packet and it never came so I figured it may have been a mistake or that I hadn't really been accepted. Also, they said we wouldn't hear until May. I finally remembered that I had moved since applying to school and maybe the packet hadn't been forwarded. I called the admissions office last week and gave them my updated address and they sent a new packet out. Stressful couple of weeks not being really sure if I was in or not.
  8. Even though we were told the 1st week of May, I do know that they are sending out some acceptance letters a bit early (or at least one anyway). I have been accepted and can't wait to meet everyone in January. Good luck to everyone that has interviewed and has an upcoming interview. The faculty seems really down to earth and focused on the success of the students. I can't wait to get started with the program. My interview was kind of short and I left it thinking I could have answered every question better. I think that's normal for most though.
  9. Has anyone that interviewed last month gotten an email?
  10. I will also be there that day! I'm going to send you a PM.
  11. Dixie, Good for you! Impressive.
  12. Do you mind me asking what your stats are?
  13. Nothing for me yet! Did they call or email you? Good for you!
  14. Same with me. I haven't emailed her yet because I want her to concentrate on finishing getting applications together! Not sure if it's a good thing to email her so she knows my name or not.
  15. Good for you. How soon is your interview if you don't mind me asking?
  16. Since obviously not much happened with most of us and TWU last week, maybe this is the week that some of us will start hearing about interview dates. It's getting late since some interviews seem to happen as soon as November last year.
  17. I haven't. My interview this week is at Emory. Thankfully Emory gives firm deadlines on when all interviews and decisions will happen. If I don't get into Emory, I'll go ahead and apply at my other two choices while I'm waiting on TWU.
  18. Mobile is my 1st choice as well. I'm not sure how many they interview and accept.
  19. I think the only thing that's keeping me from stressing about this too much is the fact that I am applying to more than one school. That reminds me of something else. I wonder why TWU asks on their application if we are applying to more than one school and to list those schools. I answered truthfully, but I still am not sure what they are looking for when asking that question. I could see how it could go right or wrong with answering yes or no.
  20. I was hoping this week would be the one that the majority of us would start hearing something. It seems like they are just hopefully starting a little later this year than last year. Still hoping I'm one of those extra lucky persons that gets a phone call interview, that would be very nice! I have an interview next week. I will give that interview my all, but its at Emory and I think they are only taking 10 people this year. I'm definitely hoping TWU comes through. I have my eye on 2 other schools with December deadlines if these two don't work out. Fingers crossed for all of us for this coming week.
  21. Hopefully this is the week that some of us will start hearing something. Thankfully I signed up for overtime this week and that will hopefully keep me from thinking about it too much.
  22. My physician reference is absolutely my easiest. Most of them want to support nurses going back to school and are more than willing to write several references.
  23. I'm not so sure about my supervisor. It's not that I haven't been a good worker, it's just that I've been here only a year. I don't know about your employer, but a lot of the supervisors at my job aren't too happy about losing nurses after a year or so to go back to school.
  24. Is anyone else applying to more than a couple schools? If so, how do you approach those you are needing a reference from? I'm thinking of applying to 4 schools and am not sure if I should say that up-front or just as each application is due. My problem is that I've only been at my job for about a year and am not totally confident of asking my supervisor to do it, especially for multiple schools.
  25. Still waiting for mine to be verified from over a week ago.
