  1. CT CCNP 2023-2024 Waitlist

You should def get in! In the mean time, make an appointment for a physical in July/August and make sure you have COVID vax (no exceptions) + at least one booster. Series in progress is OK as long as you are on schedule. Try to get your past lab work...
  2. CT CCNP 2023-2024 Waitlist

Finishing my first year at Gateway. Someone was over 100 on waitlist. They keep offering seats until the few days before classes start.
  3. CT-CCNP 2022-2023

I’m Gateway, but all CT community colleges are technically all combined into one now. There isn’t a form or anything, if you look on Castlebranch there is a spot to upload a copy of your vaccine card.
  4. I know that 25% of students picked are at random for equal opportunity. If the open seat was someone randomly chosen, they may have to randomly choose replacement to meet 25%? Not sure
  5. Gateway added a day section. Try going to your schools site and doing a course search. It’ll show you how many seats are available in each class. The size of each school is very different. Last year gateway got into the 30s
  6. I was accepted to a nursing program 3 years ago but had to bail like 3 weeks before classes started. You never know!
  7. Congrats! Orientation is next Tuesday
  8. CT-CCNP 2022-2023

    I just accepted Gateway! #12
  9. What were your stats like? My community college back on Long Island had totally different admission scoring so I was a shoe-in there but couldn’t start. The random 25% is annoying. Because if not for that I would have gotten in. I got an 83 on T...
  10. Anyone else on the waitlist for Gateway??
  11. Well the deadline to accept isn’t until May 1st, then give 2-3 weeks for processing, paperwork, etc. June sounds about right.
  12. Haven’t heard anything yet. #12 for Gateway
  13. I mean in general, applicants from last year were able to defer? I know you can’t do that now
  14. You were able to defer last year?
  15. I’m waitlisted #12 at Gateway, not sure how great my chances are but it’s very confusing with all the individual colleges being lumped together
  16. CT-CCNP 2022-2023

How does that happen? people turn down the offer?
  17. CT-CCNP 2022-2023

Does anyone know the deadline for those who were accepted to make their decision?
  18. CT-CCNP 2022-2023

I just got it. I'm #12. Not sure how great a chance that is. When is the decision deadline for those accepted?
  19. CT-CCNP 2022-2023

I got waitlisted for Gateway. I have 2 questions though. Does everyone get waitlisted or do some people get flat out denied? And when do we find out our number? Thanks!
  20. Wow really? I’ve always heard of the great pay. I can see being overworked with the rapid switch to EMR and most likely lack of qualified nurses to do the job as it’s a relatively new field that requires a Masters I think like ANYTHING in nursing tho...
  21. If you are willing to get a Masters Degree then I’d suggest Nursing Informatics if you are good with computers. It’s dealing with EMR systems.
  22. Fall 2019 Nassau Community College Nursing Program

I’m not sure there’s much that the ACEN can do with their “scoring” system. I looked at it when picking schools and it addresses curriculum, lab setting, overall student achievement, things like that. I’d be curious to see if they could take any acti...
  23. Fall 2019 Nassau Community College Nursing Program

Okay I can’t speak to ANYTHING except the CURRENT accreditation status. The school as a whole was put on probation but has since been resolved. The nursing program is not on probation or at risk of accreditation being cancelled as of right now. I’d ...
  24. I’m starting my nursing program in the Fall so I started to pick my classes and wanted to get some feedback on the pros and cons of a major hospital or a long term care/rehab facility. Not sure if a 500+ bed hospital would give me more experience or ...
  25. LTC vs Hospital for first-semester clinical

I didn't even think of that! So much more difficult to learn when you have an upset/impatient person or even family to deal with vs LTC patients that know they are in it for the long haul. My father was the WORST hospital patient, I always apologized...
