I've been in dialysis the whole time during my monitoring program so far. I do outpatient dialysis but Acute dialysis might be an option, I will find out soon I guess since I'm tying to move into that area! :)

Check and see if your hospital is on the list of approved sites, if not you can request to add it :) I usually try and cram mine in my lunch break. Also, worst case I use patient first and pay the extra drop site cost since they are open til 10. Not ...

I'm in dialysis but applied for some med/surg positions, less than 2. Years left in hpmp so hopefully I can find a hospital job my last couple years while under monitoring.

We shouldn't have had to, I did anyway and it just said no/not selected. But in the handbook online it still says we don't have to check in on thanksgiving. So you should be fine!

Did you ever find work in nursing? I've found jobs in dialysis but like vamurse said it is mentally taxing. The clinic I'm at now has been great until recently and driving an hour to work just to be exhausted with the upper managements inexperience ...

I too am trying to find recovery friendly hospitals, except in virginia. My license is clear but I am in the monitoring program. It's hard to figure out what kind of floor nursing is acceptable with a key restriction. So I feel your pain!
