How much can you make per year doing in-home assessements? And, do companies reimburse for gas, mileage, etc?

So I will be graduating from Family Nurse Practitioner school in a few months and undecided which state to practice in- Ohio or Texas. Would it be easier for me to find a job in Texas or Ohio? What would the wages be like for new grads?

My sister in law is an internal medicine physician and she reviews medical charts from home. And, she makes a 6-figure income. I'm not sure what company she works for but she says they hire nurse practitioners.

Do they hire new grads? I'm very interested in this kind of work?
