I have some travel in past, I was able to negotiate my contract prior to signing. I basically said no splitting days off so I can travel home on days off. They worked with me. I only had 8 months exp as a nurse then.

I would say that if you have 25 yrs experience that is crappy offer! I was new nurse with only 1 yr experience and brought home after taxes $1500-1600 per week that included my weekly housing stipend that was non-taxed!

I had last 13 week assignment in Tulsa OK and taking the housing stipend I also cleared 1500-1600 weekly. My extended stay hotel was 180 weekly.

Yes this is what I do...I travel about 2 hours from my home to a larger area and work 3 - 12 hr shifts for 13 weeks (or which ever length my contract is for) and stay in hotel which charges $200/wk using housing stipend (which usually $600-800/week)...
