  1. Good Resource for Learning Adequacy Measurements?

  2. Good Resource for Learning Adequacy Measurements?

Yes I know. I started in acutes. Then moved in center to be a Clin Coord/CNM so I understand your dilemma. At the other company, we can sign ourselves up for just about any learning course. But if they don't want you to do it on working time, u can ...
  3. Good Resource for Learning Adequacy Measurements?

Depending on which company you're at, there is a learning course you do for adequacy too. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  4. HHD/PD RN Chicagoland area

Wondering if anyone might be able to give me insight as to what salary I should be asking for a position of HHD/PD RN in the Chicagoland area? I'm currently a CC for 12-chair unit and got shafted on the salary when I transferred to this position from...
  5. HHD/PD RN Chicagoland area

But 35 for a CC is not high if that's what you were referring to. And technically I should be a CNM since my FA is unlicensed. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  6. HHD/PD RN Chicagoland area

Yeah I make more than that but less than what I was told I should be offered. I don't think I'll be able to get any more money for transferring but was gonna try :) Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  7. starting salary for RN with no dial experience

Wait you're giving up being a preop/PACU RN to go into dialysis!! I'd give up anything to be able to do that but can't get into any position here like that without experience. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  8. What exactly means diuresis?

I concur with LadyFree28 :) Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

  10. When to Give Epogen and Hectorol?

You said it in your post "htn, years of poorly controlled diabetes." That's my point. I care about my patients and I know that they want to live. But at the same time it's lack of responsibility to participate in their own health care or being accoun...
  11. Davita vs Fresenius

Nature of the profession. It's stressful. It's a specialty you either love or hate, no in-between. Chronics is stable but routine for the most part. Acutes is more interesting but 20hr shifts burn you out, wear your body down. Sent from my iPhone usi...
  12. When to Give Epogen and Hectorol?

And c'mon all...very few patients are going to let you stick them on a weekly basis even tho it is SC. Try making that switch in a clinic with patients who've been there for years. Efficacy doesn't really apply to the dialysis patient since the reaso...
  13. Davita vs Fresenius

I'm biased lol but DaVita. Just overall from experience and what I've heard from ppl who have left Fresenius to go to DaVita. But it does happen also that ppl leave DaVita for Fresenius. Also I know quite a few who work for both. Sent from my iPhone ...
  14. Davita drug testing

Tramadol would not show up in a drug test anyway just FYI. Former UDS collector :) Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  15. Clinical Coordinator

I just started as a CC so don't have much insight to how I will work yet. As soon as I know, I'd love to help you with your survey :) Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  16. On-Call Duties in Acute HD

This was not the standard in two of the companies I have worked for...one being one of the big two and a smaller physician-owned company. With the one of the big two, days worked we were expected to take two patients, either HD or TPE. CRRT and PD d...
  17. What bag/attire/organization???

Yes I agree. HH is not PDN. While comments are appreciated, it is misleading when posters are referring to PDN situations for nurses who are inquiring about HH issues. There are two separate forums. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  18. Fresenius Training

@westieluv The hours OP mentioned are normal clinic shift hours for some dialysis clinics. Not all clinics do 12 hrs or open to close. Some only do 8 hrs. And those are typical 8 hr shift hours, not the OP's available hours. Sent from my iPhone usi...

  20. Dialysis staff nurse salary in US

Bonnie, I think OP knows that we've all been putting what we actually make bc it's been interesting to see the differences. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  21. Usually pay is the biggest. I made $6/hr less when I worked for a MD owned clinic as v one of the big two. And benefits too are better with the bigger company. That's the only difference I've noticed. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  22. Switching from Chronic to Acute Dialysis

    Too* omg I'm tired lol
  23. Switching from Chronic to Acute Dialysis

But WestieLuv it depends on where you work two. I'm with one of the big two in Chicagoland and we are setup that we are required to take two patients per day. Third is RN choice. On call days are only 14-15 hrs. I've worked 18-20 hrs on one day but t...
  24. Dialysis nursing in US

I think in most places about 12-15 and yes, depending on clinic size.
  25. Job titles salary ranges

Well I think that's why none of us really know bc management doesn't know lol
