I know I should be lucky to have a full-time job as a LVN especially living in the Bay Area & I know as a nurse, you are expected to work some holidays but I looked at my schedule & realized I will be working all of them: Thanksgiving, Christ...
I passed nclex-pn earlier this year & this is what I did: 1. I did at least 100-120 questions for almost 2 months using the Saunders cd & I read every rationale afterwards whether I got the question right or wrong (by the end, about 3000+ q...
First of all, I am sorry you are going through all of this. It must be rough to move to a different state only to leave a job you really liked. Secondly, your preceptor should have given you positive criticism on your performance instead of acting li...

Reading this thread made me feel so much better. I just started my first job barely a month ago and I feel exactly the same way. After one week of orientation, I was put on the floor and I felt so lost. There were several times I stayed 3 hours afte...

I work at a LTC facility in the Bay Area & make $25/hr (this isn't in the city either, they probably make more in SF). Jobs are hard to find here. Most places want experienced nurses. I found this place by compiling a list of all the LTC facilit...
So, I've been applying everywhere within a 50 mile range & noticed most, if not all, require the "1 year experience." I finally got lucky & had my first LPN interview as a new grad 2 days ago for a LTC facility. The first 30 minutes of the i...
I just used Saunders, no prep course. Here's what I did: 1. I answered around 100-120 questions daily (even on weekends) on the CD for nearly 2 months. After each question I answered, I read over each and every rationale whether or not I got the que...

I got my license earlier this year & finally found a job at a LTC facility nearby. I was job searching every single day for 3-4 months & dedicated hours & hours applying everywhere. After getting no responses from applying online. I resea...

EXACTLY! so, come prepared & ready! I wanted to put all the lab values I remembered on it but when I read the part about " no downloading info." I knew it was all up to my brain. lol. good luck with your exam. You could do it!

I remember when I went to the test center, they said no "downloading" info...meaning, you can't put everything you remember on the whiteboard. Also, no eraser, so, whatever I wrote on it was turned in. I remember only using it for math questions.
Don't give up just because one test is getting in the way of your nursing career! Study hard, retake the test & apply for winter quarter! If nursing is the career you really want to pursue, don't give up on it just yet! Hang in there, retake the ...
Just a quick update: got a call for orientation to start next week! Super scared & excited but so glad & blessed that someone decided to take a chance on me! :hpygrp:
My class started out with 35 students & by the time we graduated last year, we had only 18 left. I noticed that most of the people that left were due to low test grades. You had to pass each exam with at least 75%, if you didn't pass the first ti...
I didn't do much studying the day before. I remembered I just looked over some lab values, prayed, relaxed, had a great dinner with family & went to sleep early. praying you will pass. Good luck!
I did several things to study before taking my nclex-pn: 1. I did at least 100-120 questions for almost 2 months & I read every rationale afterwards whether or not I got the question right (I did about 3000+ questions by the time I took my exam)....
