I would like to know how some other offices handle prior authorizations for presciptions from insurance companies. I try to do all the work by faxing info (forms) instead of being on the phone so much. The problem is having to fax approx. 5 replies...
I'm in a situation that I total feel uncomfortable with. I'm a new grad RN that started at an outpatient facility for special needs children. When I was hired 3 months ago I made it very clear that I did not have any peds experience. I'm in a room...

I have done office nursing for 6 yrs as a LPN & now as a RN. It is different from hospital nursing, you use different skills. In a hosp. you may have a patient for a 12hr shift & never see them again, in an office you have them as long as t...

Have you looked into Pediatric Services of America (PSA)? I just went to work for them doing center based care (medically fragile children) but they also have home health that covers the state of Georgia.

I've been there. I use to work in a solo practice for 6 yrs, when I had to be out (which wasn't very much) the doc would just take over & the office manager helped him out. Of course things were a mess when I got back & the doc was very app...

I recently recieved my RN after 15yrs as a LPN. Go for the RN first! There will be so many times that you are limited as a LPN whether it's a particular skill or place of employment. The extra time in school is worth it.

I'm in the middle of completing my requirements for the bridge program. I must say mine doesn't sound near as bad as the previous post. There are 3 tests that you have to make a 75, computer modules and peds assessment that we basically do on our o...

In A&P1 we had sheep hearts. In A&P2 we did use cats. It took almost the entire semester. We had to skin it, study the muscles then cut it open to study the organs. Mine even had kittens so of course we had to remove them so sad. Needle...
"Hopefully" I will be starting a lpn to rn bridge program in jan. Is there anyone that is currently in this type of program or just finished? Is there any advice or tips? Do the instructors tend to be harder on you since your already an lpn?
I'm thinking about getting a PDA, what brand would ya'll recommend and that is compatable with downloading medical programs? There are too many choices and I want to get my $ worth:)

Just wondering how many times or how long it took some of you to get into a nursing program. I'm already finished with RN core and working on BSN till I get in. I'm on the second attempt. It's very depressing knowing you have done all you can do a...
