Z track injections

I need an answer quick, I can't find in the text. What medications do you give by Z track injection???

Featured Replies

Very irritating medications like vistaril or a medication that would stain such as iron.

You can also use z tracking when injecting something where there's not much muscle mass, like some elderly.

We were taught to z-track all IM meds so they don't leak up into the subcutaneous tissues and cause irritation.

Definitely iron. Wouldn't wanna give you pt a new tattoo, would you?
