Pearsonvue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 3
It does work. I took it the first time getting 265 questions. Went home and logged on to Pearson Vue and made it to the CC prompt. Needless to say, 48 hours later I paid to get the preliminary results confirming that I had failed. Yesterday, I took the test and it was riddled with SATA, ordered sequence, odd medications that didn't follow any recognizable stems, and random stuff. However, it shut off at 75 and like most, I wasn't sure if I passed or failed but I researched some of my questions and learned that several guesses were good ones, which made feel a lil better. Plus this time PV said "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." That's the good sign right? Well today at 1155 I learned that I passed! Yayyyy, I'm now a professional registered nurse in the State of GA.

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
I received an 'ease-your-nerves' email from the nursing department today which did exactly as intended. I'm close to completing all the requirements; however of course there is one that's causing me to run into walls. That is the flu shot. I know Angela gave us a reprieve and extended the wait to have the fall vaccine. However, I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could get one now. Any suggestions?

Yes, I was advised by current GSU nursing students to take nutrition in the summer to lighten the fall load, which is what I decided to do. I'm enrolled in NUTR3200 at GSU this summer.

gsu11: Congratulations on your acceptance into Mercer. You have much to be proud of. Mercer is a wonderful school, prestigious and rich with history, as well as a dedicated track record in nursing. Like Hamlet, if it wasn't so expensive, I would strongly consider attending. Mercer is having a 'Spring Into Nursing' session this Friday and I plan to attend. I'm excited to tour their facilities and ask questions about financial assistance.

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
Once again, I walked anxiously to check the mailbox and this time, there was an acceptance letter from GSU! I got into the ACE program. I admit, I only had a glimpse of hope left but GOD prevailed, thanks! They thought long and hard about me but I assure them, they made the right decision!!! YAYYY!!! Now I have to return the acceptance form by April 18 and complete the PINS Review by June 3. I do have to contact them because it indicates I need to complete a US History, as well as a US Constitution requirement, before the fall. I completed both of those during my first undergraduate degree so this is something I have to resolve....but there's no stopping me!! I'm psyched!! I agree jen171; the anxiety is making me a little annoyed but i'm trying really hard to keep positive. From what I know, there are acceptance letters received in April so hopefully that includes us. I looked at actual and remaining seats available for the courses that new nursing students take entering this fall and it still shows roughly 30 seats available for most of the courses. Assuming those who were accepted are the 'actual' registered students, I'm reading 'remaining' as an indicator of more acceptance letters to come. For those who were accepted, have you been able to register for fall courses?

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
Cheers (margaritas) to completing your application packet!!! It takes a lot of time and it is high pressure trying to make sure that everything is perfect and the quality you think the application review team is looking for. I applaud you on being able to manage classes and completing your nursing application at the same time. Unable to predict what this semester had in store, therefore I planned and fortunately was able to complete my packet between xmas and the snow break. With it complete and awaiting review, I can now focus on classes too: A&P II, NURS 2010, and Mircrobiology Lecture (was unable to register a lab). Good luck this semester!

GA State's undergraduate nursing program advisor is Denisa Reed. She is very pleasant to speak with so do not hesistate to call her if you have any questions. She is also very responsive to email. She actually contacted me regarding my transcript and I was able to clarify some things. Her phone number and email are (404) 413.1000 and [email protected].

Lao Mumbo Jumbo, login in to GSU PAWS (Panther Access to Web Services). Then go to "One Stop Shop,", next "Student Records," and then "View Academic Evaluation." Choose your current semester and then generate the evaluation. I think you will find this helpful. I reference it before registering for classes. Additionally, there you can find your program gpa which is the gpa they reference when considering your application. I don't know of any other place where that gpa is recorded for students to access.

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
I think it is a matter of opinion which one ranks first. Atlanta is fortunate to have several quality nursing programs. GA State's nursing program is at the top of my list for 3 reasons: it is closest to my home, its cost, and the multiple nursing disciplines studied during the program.

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
Yes, we are posting our overall adjusted TEAS score. I took 5 classes with 2 labs last semester. It was tough but I pulled it off. I'm sure you know your capacity. Four classes is manageable but that is relative to school and all your other obligations. Know your load and don't exceed it especially if it will compromise your gpa. Once you apply for general admission to GSU/GA State, if accepted you will be able to view your credit evaluation towards a nursing degree.

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
A 4.0 gpa and an 84 TEAS score definitely makes you a contender for GSU/GA State. You have a couple weeks before the application deadline which is plenty of time to write a good essay - one without grammatical errors, on a topic that's relevant today, and your thoughts flow cohesively. With a good essay and strong recommendaton letters, I think this opportunity is for you to seize. Good luck, let us know if you meet the March 1st deadline.

Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application
MSJ8208, I think your numbers are great, but everything is relative to the entire pool of applicants and each one's complete application packet. If you write a decent essay and have strong recommendation letters, you certainly stand a solid chance. GA State, moreso than many of the other nursing programs, rely heavily on scores; it seems to be something they hold their hats on. Scores may provide some insight but in my opinion, there is much more to a great nursing student. For example, excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills are key characteristics of a great nurse. However, GSU has no way to assess those skills without an interview. Therefore, let your essay and short-answer questions reflect a part of you. Tie in the real-world applications of your degree and work experience because I think they can be beneficial to you. Hlee, today almost everything is either a health or social issue. You have many to choose from: healthcare reform, the rise of tuberculosis, teenage pregnancy, resistant staph increase, nursing shortage, etc. The list goes on. Pick one that you feel strongly about and go from there.

Gay marriage can be a controversial topic so I think it would be best to balance opinions and facts from both sides of the table. If you choose this subject, just try not to offend the reader. If you reconsider, perhaps a social-health topic could work. Alphagirl, the ATI TEAS study guide proved to be helpful preparation in my case. I recommend it.
