  1. OLOL accelerated nursing pharm notes

Just wondering if there are any older OLOL accelerated nursing students out there who still have the pharm notes and would be willing to share with the students following in your footsteps! Thanks!
  2. Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

curiousKayPee: No problem! I know y'all probably have a lot of questions. It's definitely mostly day. Class usually starts at 8 or 9 depending on the teacher. We usually get out by early afternoon. But to be honest, our schedule changes all the ...
  3. Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

To clarify, when I say studying ahead of time, I mean before the program starts. I'm not trying to tell you to procrastinate and cram for the tests!
  4. Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Not sure about the payment plan. Just about everyone I know in the class was offered loans that nearly covered the costs of tuition, even if they didn't actually use the loans. What do I wish I would have known before? Hmm. It's not nearly as di...
  5. Lady of the Lake Accelerated ASN

Not sure if y'all are still looking for the tuition costs, but I'm in the Tulane program that started in July. We paid between $2,000 and $3,000 for summer semester, $6,000 for fall semester, and will pay another $6,000 or so for spring semester. A...
  6. OLOL Accelerated programs

Hiiii Ok so I have some good information for everyone! The TENTATIVE start date is July 19th. Sorry, I forgot about asking the end date but if they don't even know when it starts, I'm assuming they definitely don't know when it will end. Also, I me...
  7. OLOL Admissions question- Please help!

I have been calling and calling and calling the admissions at OLOL (any of you who have tried know what I'm talking about) and no answer. I submitted my application for the Tulane accelerated nursing program, and in the box where it asks if you are ...
  8. OLOL Accelerated programs

I think to use private messaging you have to do 15 posts first. If you want to private message me when you get that, I'll give you my email. I'm trying to find a place in New Orleans, but it's so hard to find something in a good area that's not too ...
  9. OLOL Accelerated programs

I have another question for you. Where are y'all living? I mean what areas? THe only people in New Orleans I know live uptown, so I'm really only familiar with housing there. But it seems like we may be better off looking for apts in CBD? I don'...
  10. OLOL Accelerated programs

I hope I can find the old notes! I'm going to start a new topic and see if an older OLOL student has them, and if I find them, I'll send them to y'all!
  11. OLOL Accelerated programs

woop woop I got in toooo! What a relief. I know when I talked to them in January, classes were starting in July but they hadn't set a day yet. I'm finishing up my 2nd anatomy right now. Also, I know some old posts on here had people offering the...
  12. OLOL Accelerated programs

Haha I'm sure you will be fine! I will be crossing my fingers for both of us! Let me know when you hear something.
  13. OLOL Accelerated programs

Actually I just heard that the letters will be sent out this week!!!! They said we should get them in a week or 2.
  14. OLOL Accelerated programs

No news yet. Last Monday I called and was told they had not made a decision yet but that we should hear something in a couple of weeks. That's for Tulane though. My guess is for Metairie and Baton Rouge you'll have to wait another month or 2.
  15. Where do most of the uninsured live?

I guess I would argue and say I'm just as educated about the matter as anyone else arguing on here. However much reading you choose to do, everyone can find different information to back up their views. I think Michael Moore is crazy and support G...
  16. Where do most of the uninsured live?

UKRNinUSA, I find that when you stick to the subject at hand rather than make personal attacks, you win more arguments. I think that's what most people in this conversation have done.
  17. Where do most of the uninsured live?

This will be my last comment on this subject, as it's clear that personal opinions sometimes cannot be swayed (and I mean this from either standpoint) and I have reached my 15th comment so that I can now private message. Have you seen the number of d...
  18. Where do most of the uninsured live?

and FYI...my cousin didn't get his healthcare 100% covered by insurance. He's actually in debt because of it. And I'll tell you the same thing he would say about healthcare reform: it's not worth lowering the quality of our healthcare. He will wor...
  19. Where do most of the uninsured live?

I want to be clear that I do think some type of reform is necessary. I just think what the kind that is in the works currently will DESTROY the great medical care we have currently. It will most likely mean lower quality healthcare. It will take a...
  20. Where do most of the uninsured live?

As someone whose father's recent medical bills accrued to nearly a million dollars, and also whose cousin's medical bills over the past 2 years did add up to a million dollars, it seems that the quality of our healthcare is what is so expensive. The...
  21. Where do most of the uninsured live?

I don't have the reference for the percentage because I saw it on the news. I found this link which states slightly different numbers, but same idea. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-blumer/2009/10/26/aps-woodward-fact-checks-health-insurance-comp...
  22. Where do most of the uninsured live?

I'm not a nurse yet, but I have worked in the ER for quite a while and I also watch the news almost all day every day. Here's my take on things. 1) Those numbers for the amount of people who are uninsured, while accurate, do not tell the whole stor...
  23. LAFAYETTE, LA PAY???

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what exactly is an agency nurse? And how do you get into that?
  24. Job market for new grads in NO?

All I keep hearing about is how saturated hospitals are with nurses right now (especially, it seems, in south LA), but I hear that it should start looking better in a year or 2. Not a nurse yet, though, so can't tell you from personal experience!
  25. If this makes anyone feel better while they wait on their acceptance, a girl I know graduated a year ago. She told me she was waitlisted (you can call to see what number you are on the waitlist) and found out she was number 10, and she still got in.
