I thought I would pass along some info I recieved this morning for those of us waiting to hear back from Calhoun. I recieved this info from a press release at the chamber of commerce (I am a member and they sent this info out in a newsletter). Anyway...

I haven't even gotten my books yet! Guess who is going to be at the bookstore REALLY early tomorrow! And since I haven't gotten my books, I haven't been able to read our assignment. How can I already be behind if classes haven't started yet?!

VSBlonde - I heard from a current Calhoun nursing student that this year they are going to do a Spring class as well. I believe 2010 students are going to be required to take an entrance exam - I want to say it was the HESI.

I didn't see any cutoff points in mine..... VSBlonde, I am so sorry that you didn't get in! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you on Wallace. I heard that their nursing program is great! Good luck to all of you still waiting!:wink2:

I got my letter today!

Mid-June is what I was told, Flipgator. At UAH, they do admits for Fall and Spring. Those are done out of different applicant pools. I can't remember offhand when the dates are that you have to apply by though. My brain needs some coffee!

I was told that they notify you no matter what. I can't remember who told me though, I think it was the woman who took my application.

That is what I did...I met with the nursing advisor at the beginning of May. I can complete my BSN quicker than waiting on trying to get into an ADN program. Plus, UAH's nursing program is solid, whereas Calhoun, well, not so much right now.

That was the same boat I was in. I was going to go the LPN - RN - BSN - MSN route. When I really sat down and looked at it realistically - after sending out a ton of apps! - was that I could finish my BSN before I could even get into an ADN program! ...

Oh no!! And here I thought mid-June was brutal enough to make us wait!
