  1. I landed so many chicks with the word nurse haha :)
  2. I got in it to meet hot female nurses. Kidding hahaha...anyways, I love science and I think the human body is awesome. The technology is pretty sweet too! I know most of you are probably older, so seeing the technology advance must be awesome. I'm only 22 and its cool. Kinda like going from original nintendo to PS3 lol.
  3. I got the job in the ER :) Thanks guys. Also SlaveHeart, thanks! I've been a CNA for like a year, but never had a CNA job....just retail..im 22 and going through nursing school (RN). This is my first job as a CNA. Wish you luck on your career path to the ER :)
  4. I got the Job guys :)
  5. a stethoscope, coffee, and some more coffee lol and study hard. :) like.....super hard. -__-
  6. I know most of you are RN's, but hopefully some of you may know something about this. So it's 4am and I'm going crazy because I have an interview later today (2pm) for a position as a CNA in the ER. I'm going insane because I have no idea what type of questions they will be asking me. I get worried that out of no where some random scenario will be brought to me and I will be like "um....." LOL. Anyone know what type of questions they ask in an interview for a CNA in the ER? :S
  7. Keep a bottle of sterile water nearby just incase....

  9. Hmm..so maybe it should just be something I should hide from the beginning? I guess a long sleeve under the scrubs will have to do. Hopefully they aren't too strict about it.
  10. I have a sleeve tattoo haha and it's kinda worrying me. I don't regret the tat at all, i love it. Anyways, has anyone had any problems with employment because of tattoos? or do any of you have visible tattoos and was still able to get a job? I have a lower sleeve tat. it's a koi fish :) It's kind of like this one, but mine is from the elbow down to the wrist. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3167/3355525157_46c8c16c3c.jpg Do you guys think I'll have trouble? No one has said anything in school (professors or nurses in the hospitals). I'm on my last 2 semesters and no one seems to care, so that made me happy.
  11. I passed this semester! 3 more to go!
  12. That's exactly why I'm thinking of ICU I'm in still in school, but I'm planning ahead lol.
  13. I was an accounting major! After the second week I stopped going to class LOL. I hated it. I'm in nursing school now and I love it! :)
  14. O.O Oh god, now I'm scared for the rest of the semesters LOL.
  15. pretty much how it is for us too. It's ok! We'll get through it
  16. yeah I wouldn't doubt it. I'm hearing 3rd and 4th semester is brutal lol.
  17. Thank you.I'm a male btw lol. I don't see why people get all worked up because I find it easy so far. my friends and I are doing great. Like I said, second semester will probably be a different story. I wasn't trying to sound like im bragging because its easy. I'm just being honest. First semester is a breeze.
  18. I have no exams for that class. We only have writing assignments and I've done almost all of them. I meant understanding the real thing. Help with methods of doing things. I dont use her for everything because I obviously have to learn everything myself. I'm sure second semester will be harder. Right now its easy as hell though.
  19. Or maybe I love the medical field and my mom is a nurse, so I can ask her questions if i have problems understanding things.! Also my school has maintained a 98-99% NCLEX pass rate.
  20. I'm in nursing school and i find it fairly easy so far. First semester. Heres my schedule. Monday: Fundamentals of Nursing 8am-10am, Small lecture 11am-1150am. Monday 2pm-250pm: some dumb class about the history of nursing or some crap like that I DONT EVEN KNOW because I have an A, and I dont even go to that class LOL. Tuesday: 3pm-810pm- Hospital- Med-surge. Wednesday: 3pm-810pm- Hospital- Med-surge. Thursday: No classes or clinicals. Friday: 1pm-350pm- basic health assessment. .....................I love it. I don't find it hard at all. I'm flying through.
  21. I gave my first IM shot wednesday (im a nursing student). I was scared like hell to hit the bone...but I didnt touch it . Anyways, I'm sure it's fine. I messed around with a few needles during lab to see if they break, but all I saw was bending :) im sure you're fine.
  22. I don't mind all that stuff. If dealing with nursing school will get me into the ER, then i don't care. I'll do it, and I am doing it :)
  23. Hi everyone! I'm a nursing student and I was wondering if any of you could give me some good examples of a well-done head-to-toe assessment. I feel like I jump around too much when I practice. I don't want my patient to sit, lay down, sit, lay down...and yeah you get what I mean. A good example would be nice :) Thanks!
