  1. Sir, How many times do I have to tell you? I am not your wife, your daughter, your sister, or Whitney Houston. Now please get back to bed.
  2. So...which one of you needs the smallpox vaccine?
  3. So where are the seminar brochures? I need to make sure and hand it to my supervisor to get paid. I didn't sail across the sea for nothing!
  4. Our nurse residency program has a 0%...I mean 3% drop out rate.
  5. We pride ourselves in providing our nurses with the utmost quality care.
  6. The travel nurses are always the ones list behind...
  7. No need to worry, this always happens to Travel Nurses.
  8. That's the personal protective equipment for an "oops" precaution
  9. So that's why JCAHO requires us to put biohazard signs.
  10. I start my first day on the floor as a new grad tomorrow, hopefully this doesn't happen to me!
  11. "First day huh? Welcome to the nursing profession"
  12. "I think you might have something on you face"
  13. I did not get my preference, but I am more than happy to work at the department they placed me in. I know what specialty area, but not what specific department. =)
  14. I got a call today and was offered a job for the residency program. So excited!! :]
  15. I am guessing they got overwhelmed with all the paperwork that people sent in on Thursday. They probably figured it would be more efficient if they just informed everyone on the same day.
  16. I see thanks for the info. Good luck to all of us...especially me!
  17. Did HR say they had 500 applications total(internal and external) or 500 applications for external applicants. Did HR tell you they are only hiring 10 people?
  18. I commuted sometimes an hour to get to class and sometimes an hour and a half to get to my clinical facility. If nursing is your pathway and you are really interested in doing it then I feel like distance shouldn't be a problem especially if you have the resources. If you were worried about gas prices and have an unreliable car then that would be a good reason not to drive so far for school.
  19. Congrats on getting an interview and best of luck! Did they ask all behavioral type interview questions like the previous cohort had stated during the interviews? Or was it a mix of the usual "strength, weakness, hardest struggle in life, project where you worked in a team" type? If you don't mind me asking.
  20. Thanks that is good to know! I believe I applied for the picu and hematology/oncology I think. Is there a way for me to find out which places I had applied for. The application was in March or April so it was too far for me to remember =/ and the application status does not show which area.
  21. When you guys got the call to schedule an interview, do they do a quick phone interview on you or is it just a call to inform you that you are selected for an interview? Hopefully I get a call for one of the units! =)
  22. "I thought she wanted to be scheduled on Christmas"
  23. "Never assume an ICU nurses age.........real age + (5 yrs x each year your working in the ICU) = appearance" "I was only trying to help her get rid of her contaminated scrubs" "I was just trying to help her cross the street, how should I have known that she works in the ICU and is 24" "Keep the physical examinations for nurses, not pedestrians" "Don't ask a nurse for directions when shes on her way to her 10min coffee break"
  24. Thanks for the redirection of the thread. My apologies for the lack of information. This is for the California licensure by examination application. I attached the application, fee, and passport photo. I completed my live scan, but forgot to attach the live scan document onto the application like it states on the website. 1 copy was for the postal annex that conducted the live scan, 1 was suppose to be attached to my application, and the third copy was for mine to keep for records.
  25. Hello, I tried calling the BRN and emailing them, but they seem to be busy. I sent my application for licensure by examination with all the documents with the exception of the 2nd copy of my live scan fingerprint paper. Will I have to mail that separately to them or will I have to do the whole process again? If anyone has an answer to this that would be helpful. In the meantime I will be constantly trying to contact the BRN regarding this issue and will delete the post once I find an answer. Thanks!
