  1. How long does it take once you submit your application for your name to come up and say "Unapproved Applicant" and "Application in progress"? I sent everything in two and a half weeks ago and my name is not showing up on the BON site. I know they received it because I was able to track the package.
  2. It says online the open house is from 9 to 12. I just want to clarify that I do not have to be there right at 9; I can show up anytime during that time frame, correct? Thanks :)
  3. Congrats, Dizzy!!
  4. I'm so sorry to hear that.
  5. The only "official" way is through the BON. If your state participates with the quick results, which takes 2 days, you will get your unofficial results. They're pretty much official, they just say unofficial because only the BON can give you your official results, and they don't want you to start practicing until you get that. Good luck. The PVT seems pretty reliable.
  6. Congrats!!
  7. I'm not sure what help Pearson will be. CA doesn't participate in quick results, right? I'd try and call the BON.
  8. Good luck to everyone! You can do this! :)
  9. Thanks! At least our school has a 95% pass rate, so your odds are great!
  10. Haha, I just typed that when you were typing. I don't know what advice I can give really. The questions didn't seem hard, but most of the answers seemed right! There's 6 of us that took the exam so far from my campus and so far everyone passed. We all did our studying differently. My friend did the Kaplan class and then a ton of questions. Another did just the Kaplan book and a ton of questions. I did Hurst review (at home). Watched all the review videos for 3 hrs a day until they were done, then I did the Kaplan book, then I did the Hurst Mock Nclex and then the Kaplan practice test in the back of the book. I had Saunders but I was afraid to use that because when I did the questions before the NS exams, they always seemed easy (although they do give good rationales). I always thought Lippencott was harder, but I didn't have any more time to do any more questions. Just do some reviewing, and do some questions. Good luck. When is your test?
  11. Hey- shescoolie! I remember you from the threads for BC! Congrats on graduating. We graduated together and didn't know it, lol. I just took the NCLEX Friday and found out today I passed!
  12. I studied for 16 days, 3 hours a day and didn't do any studying the day before my exam.
  13. I took my exam on Friday. Exam stopped at 95, got home and got the good pop up. Did quick results today and found out I passed. The trick works!!! I'm now an RN, too!
  14. Congrats! I'm above the clouds right now myself!
  15. I had 95 questions, came home and got the good pop up. My results were available from Pearson Quick Results, paid the $8 and found out I passed. Everyone that I know did the trick and it was true. Relax, I believe this trick is true!
  16. Well, I kept checking and just now it was up. I checked, and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! I'm now officially an RN! Woot!
  17. Maybe its the Kaplan book?? I had the Kaplan book, too and everything made sense when I was reading through it. However, when it came time to do questions, I had a hard time remembering it all. My friend took the actual class and just sung it's praises. So perhaps the class helps a lot with remembering all the strategies, plus you have a lot more practice questions then you get with the book. That way, you get a lot of practice actually using the strategies and it starts to stick in your brain. Just my theory.
  18. Do you have any family or friends around? Maybe friends with kids your son's age that you can have a sort of play date with- where the other mom watches the kids a little, and the kids play so its easier, and you can study? How about any friends that you trust that can watch your son and then once your exam is over you can do something for them in return? Or any combination? I feel so bad, I know how hard it must be to have a child, and from what it sounds like, a single mom? I have 2 kids but I was fortunate to have a husband and an extended family to help me through school and while I studied for my exam. I don't know what I would have done without them. I'm not sure I would have made it.
  19. I took my test in Florida at 1pm on Friday and I still cannot access my quick results as of yet. I'll try again later today and see what happens. Hopefully I won't have to wait until Wednesday, which is when 2 business days would end up being. I got the good pop up, but I want to tell everyone I passed and I'm waiting until its a little more official until I do so. :)
  20. I took my exam today and had about 95 questions. The last one I looked at was 92 and then I had a few more questions after that before the computer shut off. I didn't look at the last couple of numbers, so I'm guessing 95. Definitely less than 100. Anyway, I didn't know what to think after I was done. I had a lot of questions where I just said, "What the heck?" and had no clue how I was really doing. I got home and got the good pop-up with my family all watching. I know from reading and re-reading here that it has never been inaccurate so I am pretty much going on as if I passed, I just want to wait for the official results before I announce it to the world. Just in case I'm so excited, I can't even believe it!
  21. I take my exam this Friday, July 1. I also feel so unprepared, but even though I'm not doing so well on all the practice questions, I'm getting more right than wrong, so I'm holding onto that hope. I have the Kaplan book, Lippencott and I did the Hurst review online. I still feel like I don't know enough, but I'm trying to remember that I'm not supposed to know it all.
  22. I take mine on Friday and I'm starting to get really nervous! Good luck!
  23. Well, to debunk all theories, unfortunately, here is where I stand: Got my email at 4:38 pm EST I applied for Critical Care Track I Fed ex'd my application 2 days before the deadline My last name starts with K I did NOT get an interview So, there seems to be NO method to how they're emailing. But no news is still good news. or at least better than finding out you won't be interviewing. Good luck to everyone who gets an interview!
  24. Emails are out.
  25. Hey guys- The first week is hard. It's VERY overwhelming. So many things going on at once- trying to find a balance, trying to get adjusted, trying to stay ahead, trying to figure nursing school out, etc. etc. But stay strong. Trust me, you are not alone. Every other person in your class is feeling the same way. Its a long road ahead, but it will get better (not easier, just more manageable). No other class has as much reading as NP1 and NP2, plus you will not have to deal with pharm after 1st semester. Hang in there :)
