to me, either task could be considered priority, depending on point of view. however, something that the other responders did not point out - how that the exact same thing as what was done (bed got made and pt got d/c'd), could have been accomplished...

can i second that opinion?!!! if your nurse to pt ratio is 1:8 on a telemetry floor, with fresh open hearts, you're looking to lose your license! sooner or later, you're gonna lose a pt, because another had your attention for other serious problems...
