    struggling to finish school

I need some information to assist me along my nursing path. I am 22 years old and I have a 6 year old and a 9 month old baby. I am currently attending a 4 year institution business school and I am transferring over to a community college in a few weeks to finish up my pre-reqs to be a nurse. I need ap 1, 2 and microbio to apply to the LPN program but I cant take all three classes at once. I receive financial aid and they wont pay for me to take one or two classes per semester I need at least 3-4 classes. I desparetely need to work so I was considering just taking the LPN program instead of trying to complete my RN since I am so close. Any advice? I really would like to be a RN.

Well I used to be a staffing manager for a healthcare agency that hired GNA'S on a contract basis and the GNA'S that worked for me actually enjoyed it. It gave them flexability and it paid them way more than if they actually worked for a facility. Th eonly thing is that most of them do notr offer benefits if thats what your looking for. They loved it and since I left that job to take a GNA class myself, ( I only did that because Im in school for nursing) I will be doing contracts when I finish. I hope this helps!

seriously considering quitting my job--need suggestions

I dont really recommend quitting your job without another one lined up. I have been in the administrative field (medical) for about 4 years and I really liked it. Maybe you should find a job in the hospital or in the medical field to support you. I quit my job to finish school fulltime but I have the help of my fiance and it is still difficult for me to pay my car payment. He pays everything else but I am responsible for my car. With that said, the point I am trying to make is that you will still need to at least work part time. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Terrified of drawing blood

I totally need some help. I am a pre-nursing student. I went to school for medical assisting 3 years ago and I passed the curriculum but I did a terrible job with drawing blood. I never used the clinical side to get a job I used the administrative side. I am now 3 classes away from applying to the RN program but I am afraid of drawing blood still. I can deal with blood and any other gross stuff, but I am afraid of actually sticking the needle in to far or missing the vein. Is there any hope?

Can I do this if I really try?

Wow, I feel the same way that you do. I am still taking pre-reqs but I do alot of research and read alot of this forums and I feel discouraged. I am 22 years old and I have an infant and a 6 year old but I am still averaging a B, in my classes. Sometimes after reading some of the nursing school stories, I feel like I might not make it through. I am so determined not to let these types of things get to me but is there really hope? Good luck to you, you can do it.
