Pay Per Visit ... Good or Bad?

I get paid per visit too, and I am definitely not considered 'self-employed'...I would check with different places if I were you and maybe avoid that employer.
  2. I've been doing home health for almost a year now, after 7 years in hospital/clinic. My specialty is psychiatric nursing. My day starts a little later than I'd like because I have a hard time getting my patients moving before about 9 a.m...I see an...

    Well, that didn't last long

So after 2 short months, I am no longer a correctional nurse. Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the job; it was absolutely perfect for me. My biggest problem was the schedule. My NM wanted us to work 4 shifts in a row, then be off 1 day, then work 4 mor...

    Hello everybody!

I am starting my job as a HH nurse next week, and I'm both scared and excited. I will be working in the psychiatric side of things, as is my specialty, and I've worked previously in both inpatient and outpatient psych as well as med/surg and correct...

    I finally got a job!!

I hope so...the area in which I live has a VERY low demand for experienced nurses and it takes a long time to get a job.

    *UNEMPLOYED NURSES*

I just finished my second week at my new job...before that I was unemployed for five months. I have a BSN and six years of experience, and I left a good job when we had to relocate with the military. I probably put in 50 applications before I got t...

Have you been assaulted by a patient?

I'm a psych nurse...unfortunately it goes along with the territory. But yeah, it happens quite a bit.

Nurses sound off! Steth belt clip or around the neck?

I use only my own stethescope, and I have deep pockets so it rides in there...I'd love a belt clip. I'm a psych nurse...nothing goes around the neck! lol

What did you do before you were a nurse?

I was a vet tech, a secretary, a waitress, and a mental health tech at a forensics evaluation unit. Personally I'd have loved to go to vet school but chemistry kicks my BUTT! But I like being a psych nurse lol.
  19. I graduated from USA 5 years ago this month and am planning to go into the Master's program this spring. I loved the program...very challenging and rewarding, and the teachers are superb! I feel like I got a great education! Best of luck!

I hate to say this, but I think it's true.....

Personally I don't care why someone's going into nursing as long as they're good at it and do what they're supposed to be doing...I mean, I wouldn't be doing it for free and it certainly wasn't my "calling" in life. However, I do enjoy it and it pa...

    Gum Chewing

When I worked inpatient, I chewed gum while I was at the nurses' station...when I left the station, I would tuck it sort of between my cheek and gums. Now that I work in a clinic, I do chew it more...but I still don't chew it while I'm actively enga...
