  1. NYU Spring 2008

I'm starting clinicals in the spring of 2008 at NYU. Is anyone else applying to NYU or going to start clinicals in the spring? I'm taking the prereqs right now at nyu, so feel free to ask my any questions. You can PM me Thanks! Hope to see some of yo...
  2. NYU Spring 2008

You're welcome. I'm full time. It would take forever if you try to do it part time!!!!!!
  3. NYU Spring 2008

Well AP is only one term at NYU. I'm starting my second term of acutal nursing courses tomorrow. AFAIK, they don't allow deferment.... but good luck.
  4. NYU Spring 2008

NYU's AP is 3 credits. And yeah, u can potentially take all the prereqs at teh same time. I'm pretty sure you can take Nursing Research the same time as the prereqs.
  5. NYU Spring 2008

I would say you have a pretty good chance of getting in - the avg last term was a 3.4 I think, you would prob be a definite if you were male.
  6. NYU Spring 2008

For fundamentals, if you register early, you will get to choose which clinical site you want. It was a weird process, first we chose a section based on boro, then later they finally told us which section corresponded to which site and then you can a...
  7. NYU Spring 2008

Hi, Wow, so you called and got everything in order with housing? I knew the 'set deadline' for the health clearance was crap... You missed orientation though from what I read... not that it isn't a waste of time... lol And you'll most likely get a ...
  8. NYU Spring 2008

Truthfully, your chances are slim. You can't really up your gpa siginificantly enough and the gpa for this incoming term was I think around 3.4 and going higher every term. Definitely do not waste your money taking the prereqs at NYU, take them som...
  9. NYU Spring 2008

I got some scholarship money and it helps but it's going to be expensive. It's worth it though. However, I still don't think the education and facilities is worth 36k/yr. People literally have to fight over clinicals. And sadly, since u didn't re...
  10. NYU Spring 2008

It's a new nursing student seminar. Well it's 'due' dec 15th, but you can hand it in later i'm sure. Nothing to worry about.
  11. NYU Spring 2008

GPA is relative though. My friend had Anyway, were you at the seminar today? It seemed like it would never end! And how is fundamentals? I'm starting the 15 month next term. I'm male and have no idea what size scrubs to buy. NYU doesn't really...
  12. NYU Spring 2008

Well, if you're gpa is "high" then you'll get in, I think. If it's rather low, things are bleak. As for shots and BCLS. NYU has a bcls course taht you can take if you get in. Shots are due Dec 15th officially but I"m sure you can hand them in lat...
  13. NYU Spring 2008

Hi, Honestly, I think all NYU really cares about is your gpa. At this point it isn't really competitive enough to look at your extracurriculars that much. As long as you surpass everyone else with your gpa, you'll get in. Even during the seminars ...
  14. NYU Spring 2008

There is a class at NYU in early January. It's from 9AM to 3PM or so but they will let you out at about 1. You don't really learn anything and there's no test. I took it there. So don't fret. :)
  15. Spring 2008 NYU Applicant No Pre-reqs

Hi. Congrats. I'm actually finishing up the prereqs right now and starting clinicals in the spring. What prereqs are you taking? Maybe you can buy some of my books.:) ---------------- kaymin AIM SN: lilkaymin
  16. Spring 2008 NYU Applicant No Pre-reqs

Well those community college nurses only receive ASN. NYU is really biased against ASN. You get paid more with a BSN and u can advance to a further degree at NYU like masters. So a BSN is definitely worth it if u want to go up the nursing ladder. ...
  17. NYU Spring 2008

Tell me about it. I was really stressed about the immunization thing too. It took them like a week to get back to me on when it's due. I doubt ther'es really a due date. and NYU offers FREE BCLS certification, so don't fret. I'll prob see you in...
  18. Spring 2008 NYU Applicant No Pre-reqs

Sorry to hear that Deevee. U definitely deserve to be a nurse. I'm taking the prereqs at NYU now for one term. Take it anywhere besides NYU because you'll end up saving a lot of money and there really isn't a difference. I don't particularly like...
  19. NYU Spring 2008

anyone get their acceptance letters or rejections:(?
  20. NYU Spring 2008

Hi deevee =) anyway, are you planning to go to san antonio or NYU? And you'll prob be hearing from NYU in like 2 weeks. You should call to check your application too.
  21. Hi everyone. I just got my acceptance letter to NYU. Regular 2nd bachelors BSN last week (non accelerated). I applied as a transfer and I'm male. I'm probably going to attend. If anyone is attending NYU in Fall '07 please contact me at de518@n...
  22. NYU Fall 2007 Regular BSN 2nd Bachelors

Whoah. Did you really take micro course at colorado ccc online? did you take all your preqs there? it looks like they offer the prereqs i need over the summer... does nyu really take them and how was it? i would love to take the prereqs there over th...
  23. NYU- Fall 2007 Accelerated Nursing Program

Hi, I got the acceptance letter in april but it's a non accelerated 2nd bachelors though. I only got about 6k in scholarships too and the rest loans. It sucks but in the long run it's worth it...! i got the finaid package about a week after i sen...
  24. NYU Fall 2007 Regular BSN 2nd Bachelors

Hi! Yeah, i'm doing 12 credits of the prereqs over the fall. It says on your profile you applied for accelerated so i'm guessing you took the prereqs. Lucky you! it's odd that it says summer on your acceptance letter since i don't think they of...
  25. NYU Fall 2007 Regular BSN 2nd Bachelors

Lol, I did my undergrad at stony brook. I heard the nursing there is awesome. I definitely should've pursued nursing there before I graduated. I would've applied but I am firm on staying in NYC. Good luck with your choice!
