If they can tell the cg when they need to go the bathroom, Then they should be classified as #1....you're on the winning side of this "battle of the wits".

I have been a case manager in Home health for about 5 years..If the pt had not died then you wouldn't have to do a transfer unless he was an inpatient for more than 23 hours. So, I would say do a discharge oasis due to death...hope this helps..

I am a case manager/admitting nurse & I do my own coding, including the new V-codes. But if I have questions I call someone a little higher up than me.
First of all, I'd like to apologize for this being so long, but I have a situation that i would like to share & maybe get some opinions on. I am a home health casemanager & have had an ongoing problem with a patient's pharmacy. We make weekly...
Hi, I have been in home care for almost 2 yrs now, & I love it! I am paid a good hourly wage, good mileage, paid for my travel & office time. Not to mention on call pay is an extra $900 a month...& I very seldom get a call. Home health ca...

age does not make a difference when it comes to HIV. I have cared for many older women with HIV....usually their husbands gave it to them d/t wandering ways. I would recommend her be tested.

my favorite situation was when I was lost & called the little ole' lady that was HOH ...."you just need to come here my way...towards my house."..this is the only thing she could help me with.. no concept of east, west etc... Trying to convince ...
I attended a very tough nursing school, who was known for "weeding" students out. There were several LPN's that didn't make the cut. Being an LPN doesn't help anything (I heard this straight from most of the LPNs in my class)... so I wouldn't recomm...
I left med/surg nursing & am now a home health case manager. I would never go back to regular floor nursing...Home health is great, but be ready for the paperwork. :uhoh21:

i work home health as a case manager, & love it.We do a little bit of everything since the insurance companies are sending sick people home way too early these days.
If they think you clocked in & then left, they can report you to the state board of nursing for abandonment of your patients. If it were me, I'd DEFINTELY clarify this with them ASAP.. GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide.

There are really not a lot of differences between a 2yr. & 4yr. degree nurse. Most hospitals or agencies do not pay anything extra for those extra 2 yrs of college. After graduating from nursing school, you can go to work in a hospital with a le...
