  1. I just got off the phone with a Cali. BRN rep just 5 minutes ago (it's currently 5:45 pm US EST as I am typing this) after a short inquiry of mine. So basically, I am a nurse who graduated from a Philippine(s) nursing school back in 2007 and who was ...
  2. So I heard. I'm sorry about that. Apparently you need to take a whole semester or year to satisfy the concurrency issue. Have you contacted the board yet?
  3. Our education< our pride!

Are you currently living here in the US? If so then, well, be aware that you now live in a country where rule of law and regulations are actually implemented. I hate to say this but you feel like you are entitled to so many things that this country...
  4. Inquiry about my mother in law's E3 visa application

I don't think any visa has been approved based on your statement above. You may be confusing an approved I-140 for a visa. An approved I-140 does not grant any visa status to anyone. It is merely an approval of her green card application. Once ap...
  5. Who's your analyst? Like the Jr Admin already said, contact the BRN directly or walk in to their office in Sacramento and ask them first about your situation and you possibly challenging the NCLEX-PN. You would not wanna waste money like a lot of f...
  6. Well, good luck. It's really tough coming here in the US nowadays unlike before. Just do what you gotta do and you'll be okay.
  7. Were you not issued a license card/number ever due to you not having a US Social Security number/card? Be advised that my case may be different to yours because I have a US Social Security at the time that I got my license back in 2008. I was issued ...
  8. 16 interesting facts about nursing around the world!

Number 15 hits the ball out of the park. You won't believe how many times my co workers "jinxed" our shift by just one of them saying "Oh, I like it today it's so quiet" or "Wow, I hope the call lights keep gathering dust" or something. There was o...

Please read this past thread of mine to kinda provide you all a backbone story to THIS CURRENT thread: https://allnurses.com/possible-new-information-california-brn-t446106/ Anyway, I was really able to renew my CA BRN despite the fact of me being a ...
  10. Giving up on California

Wow... That is depressing. You think I have a chance with my 4 years experience in post-acute and rehab centers? Like my previous post, I've already seen all the craziness that a post-hospital care center could offer. Thanks.
  11. Giving up on California

What do you think abt me? I have like 4 years of sub/post-acute nursing experience. And that's the kind that's almost like a med surg unit in a hospital (terrible!). You think I have a chance? I've practiced in Colorado and Florida...Thanks mate.
  12. Moving to San Francisco from KY

Hey JDLC, can you please give me a summary on the job outlook in California especially in the Los Angeles area? Looking forward to moving there. Thanks!
  13. Giving up on California

Hey Commuter... Is it really bad in California in terms of the job outlook? Even at nursing homes, convalescent hospitals or rehab centers?
  14. Nurses: Oppression Can Stop With You

Nurse-patient ratio is the first issue that SHOULD to be addressed.
  15. Comparing A Nurses' Salary

So far this year, I'm on track to making $65,000 (gross) which is a little lower than what I made last year. I'm pretty good with it and living in Florida with a relatively low C.O.S. also helps. Nurses deserve to have higher pay than other profess...
  16. Look up this new post of mine. https://allnurses.com/my-ca-brn-renewal-update-t446485/ Cheers!
  17. 9th Nursing Caption Contest - Win $100

Anne, what should we use for her? Valium or xanax?
  18. Yep. ONLY the California licensees before the stricter implementation of the concurrency/curriculum requirements. At least that's what according to the BRN rep I spoke to.
  19. What phase are you in now on your California application? Did the CA BRN give you an ATT to challenge the NCLEX? As I said, the above information only applies to us who have been given ATT's to sit the NCLEX and the licensure almost 5 years ago.
  20. Are you only targeting hospitals? Don't you wanna try skilled nursing homes or rehab centers? Homecare or any of that sort?
  21. If it's your first time renewing and have passed the NCLEX within the last 2 years, you are exempted. I got my CEU's via netce.com... I like their organization and format. Are you currently working? I have been working for 4 years now. I am planning ...
  22. I am about to renew it online now. I just finished the last 2 hours of CEU's to make up for the 30 hours needed for California. The 28 hours I have were all for Florida when I renewed this year. Apparently we can use other state's CEU hours that we a...
  23. US Educated , non citizen - chances of being commissioned

Non citizen, non green card holders cannot enlist at the moment. However, during periods of significant, large scale wars, restrictions on enlistment eligibility may be temporarily suspended. Green card holders may become "green card warriors" and a...
  24. CA license renewal for international nurses

Look up my recently started thread. I contacted the CA BRN and I received very positive news regarding my situation.
  25. CA license renewal for international nurses

Was she able to renew hers? I currently have the same dilemma. I have been working for 4 years in the US now and currently am here in Florida. I got my first ever US license in California back in 2008 and being educated in the Philippines didn't s...
