Now before I start to vent, I have to say, that my family (as in, my mom & dad) are very supportive of me becoming an LPN. The only thing that is bugging me is since I won't be able to start the LPN program until my 18 month old begins Kindergart...

  12. LPN's in Assisted Living

Hi, does anyone here work as an LPN in an assisted living facility? I think I'd love to work in one eventually. My mom works in an ALF as a receptionist. Their LPN's do not wear scrubs, as to not make it feel like a "hospital setting". If anyone her...
  13. LPN's in Assisted Living

LegginMF, The ALF that my mom works at is exactly like the one you work at too. She is a receptionist in the regular building, and the Alz/Dem is right next door. It's a very nice facility, and the people that work there all seem very nice. I'd love ...
  14. Putting my dream on hold

Well, I called the tech school today, and they are sending me information about the LPN program, but I'm kind of bummed, because they said it's only a full-time program that runs M-F 8am-3:45pm. Right now, I can't swing that, because I have an 18 mon...

Yikes, that does sound scary for you and for the residents. I am not an LPN yet, in fact, I'm just thinking of going to school, but situations like yours really scares me. I wonder why LTC facilities won't hire more LPN's as to make the workload bett...
