As NICU nurses do you think there is a benefit to a new nurse in the NICU being a former NICU parent? Or do you think there is a downfall of sorts?

as student we get a ton of magazine offers for different nursing topics and interests but I have not seen one geared specifically to pediatric critical care. Is there one you like over another? just a basic peds one? Thanks!
