I take the NCLEX tomorrow in Fresno, California at 2:00 pm and I'm hoping that I can get some advice from any of you. I know that stressing and being nervous is just going to make things worse for me so can you share what relaxation techniques worked for you the day before the test and/or during the test? Also....I believe in prayer and have prayed for others because I know how stressful this experience has been for me and I'm asking if anyone could please return the favor by saying a prayer for me. Any psalms or readings I should reflect on would really help as well. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!

I'm about to take the NCLEX RN and I just found the ncsbn website's "detailed test plan." I HAVEN'T studied it at all and I'm testing REAL soon. I've been using the Saunders CD, Kaplan qbank, LaCharity book and now I'm worried I've left a big resource (the plan) that I should have been studying from. Has anyone used this plan and am I in big trouble now regarding preparedness? Should I worry more about studying off this plan and stop studying my other CD's and book? I test tomorrow so now I feel totally unprepared again. HELP!!!

I don't understand how to do this calculation.....HELP!!! I've read threads that we don't have to know Dopamine calculations but this problem was on the ncbn website so I'm worried ones like it are going to be on the test. Is this true and if it is....can someone help me solve this problem please? The nurse is caring for a client who has a prescription for an Intropin (Dopamine) drip for 5mcg/kg/min. The client weighs 200 pounds. The nurse has 400 mg per 500 ml D5W available . How many ml should the nurse administer to the client each hour? THANK YOU!!

nclex study guide?? um...does that mean look it up in saunders and resource books like that or is there a study guide out there that I'm missing?? THANKS FOR CHATTING WITH ME BTW!!!

I was hoping someone could help me with studying for infections/precautions. Are the questions structured to where it named a disease and you answer the type of precaution or do they give you the clinical manifestations or symptoms and then you have to figure out what disease process it is and from that....answer which type of precaution to use??? THANKS!!!!

Thanks BabyLady for the response but I have some questions for you and everyone else. First of all, you wrote that most of respiratory would be droplet. I have most such as RSV as contact. Am I wrong? Which ones are droplet?? Hello everyone!!! From what I've read in the postings, there is a good chance that there will be infection control questions on the NCLEX RN. I'm not asking for the questions but more of a general what types of things to study because infection control and precautions is a wide topic for me and I don't know what to focus on. For example, is it what is the correct precautions for a certain disease??? what personal protective equipment are we supposed to have on during certain precaution measures?? what family members must wear to be in the room. I'm just wondering what to focus on studying. Can someone give me advice based on their experience even though I know everyone's test is different??? Please...... I appreciate all responses and apologize but I'm just VERY nervous!!!

I also had friends that took it and passed with about that many questions so thats a good sign. I dont take mine till the 23rd of this month.....any advice?????? THANKS AND LET US KNOW........... :)

I just finished taking a 75 question assessment test from the NCLEX 4000 CD. I ONLY scored a 56% which I feel means that I am NOT ready to test. I have been studying the Saunders 4th ed CD and the Kaplan qbank and scoring in the 60-70's. I've been also reading the rationales but now I get this 56%!!! I take the test on March the 22nd and I'm REALLY feeling stressed out and depressed because I am probably not ready. Any advice?????????????? THANKS in advance for any replies!!!!!!

thanks so much!!! but a ding a ling question. Are there any isolation and precautions when we DON"T have to where gloves. i just noticed that airborne and droplet don't list gloves. hhhmmmmmm and THANKS so much for the positive words.......it definitely made me feel better

I was wondering if anyone could share with me that correct NCLEX way/order of taking off PPE such as gloves, gowns, goggles....etc., or the resource that I could find this information in. I've read on this site that this information needs to be known so I'm just hoping that someone would share this knowledge with me.....PLEASE!! Sorry everyone but I have a ding a ling question regarding the great resources from april31009 and sweetmya. I'm wondering about the PPE for airborne and droplet precautions. At the hospital that I used to work at....we were always to wear gloves in isolation rooms. Is that the textbook way that we are supposed to know on the NCLEX as well. Told u all that it was a ding a ling question. Sorry!! all this studying is making my mind mush............ And THANKS to all for the positive words.....its truely keeping me positive!!

Every night I try to make sure that I include a quick prayer for ppl taking the NCLEX as well as other tests that others are taking. Good luck and stay positive!!
