  1. Has anyone signed the contract for nurse residency and then quit? Or known anyone that has? Did they have to pay if so what do they send a bill in the mail?! My husbands job is relocating him and I may have to quit. I only get generic answers from HR...
  2. Took My NCLEX yesterday 75 Questions - Help?

    any update?
  3. I have only done the ATI predictor and Uworld normal tests so I am not familiar with how the predictors work. Is that 68% chance of passing or 68% as a general score on the test?
  4. Would like to get some input on this position I was just offered. The company is called National Care Management and they are contracted by Humana. They want me to visit clients in home once a week. I can have up to 35 clients. They pay $180 per clie...
  5. LS1-3 by May?

Is it ridiculous to try to may the May deadline for the FCCA if I start studying this week? Would mean testing every 3 wks or so. I have studied for LS1 before but I'm sure I will need refresher. I guess I'm asking if anyone has done it before? I hav...
  6. Studyguide101 or books??

I use both and prefer to read the text first in the books and feel it gives a more complete picture for better understanding. I bought my books on Amazon. Most were cheap as I don't buy the latest edition. SG101 is good to review and when I can't bri...
  7. A&P in one test or two

I just took this exam and it was not that bad. The practice exam had me very concerned and in fact I got a 50 and a 55 on it [emoji15]. The test however was much more basic. If u did a&p in LPN then I would go for the big test. I studied with jus...
  8. A&P in one test or two

I would suck it up and do the 6 credit HR test. It's a lot of material but I go back and review often and in the end it all kind of comes together all the systems working together that it is much easier than it seems
  9. LS1-3 by May?

I have time lol. I guess I just don't want to kill myself trying to do it and not make it or worse fail and have to wait anyways lol
  10. TCN Study Guides for LS1-3

I have seen people post about using TCN or other publishing company study guides for these exams. I went to eBay and do not see anything that says what exam the study guide is for. Most seem to be textbooks(?) If you used a helpful study guide please...
  11. Practice Exams (Excelsior)

68-70's is what I try to get before testing. Have only gotten one "C" and that was transitions and it's because I hated it and just wanted it over with lol
  12. Excelsior Pace

In my opinion I wouldn't do it. Unless you live very far from a testing center I'm not sure how much time that would even save you. The first few nursing exams I probably could have done 2 at a time because they were more review from LPN school. Also...
  13. "Care Manager" for National Care Management/Humana

Also we get CEUs for the training
  14. "Care Manager" for National Care Management/Humana

They claim it is taken care of in the flat rate of $45/HR. It's not a typical home care job so I'm just kind of skeptical as well! I can choose my clients so I can pick ( if there are any ) clients close to me
  15. Interim LPN CM for Humana (Personal Nurse)?!

I just interviewed for the same position except different staffing. $45/hr flat rate no mileage or training pay. Following for responses.
  16. Timeline for associates degree completion

I'm trying to workout a timeline to make sure I graduate before my 7 yrs are up. My question is how much time should I allot for completion of the FCCAs and then time to schedule and take the CPNE? The classes I can kinda estimate based of how many c...
  17. Timeline for associates degree completion

I enrolled in 2011 so I do not have to take a & p and micro prior to nursing exams and I have completed all but ls1-3. So my question is should I take the nursing exams now and be eligible for FCCA and then CPNE and work on a&p and micro whil...
  18. Another step forward

I feel like I heard back pretty fast but this was 5 yrs ago lol. They took all my credits that could apply
  19. Timeline for associates degree completion

Early April of 2018. I have a&p,micro LS1-3 and then obviously FCCA AND CPNE.
  20. When should I start looking for a job?

I dont know how in demand LPN's are where you live but here they won't even look at your resume before you have a license in hand. I have a few classmates who got rejected and basically said come back when u have a license. My old job (LTC) they woul...
  21. Fall 2012 lpn classes

WOW... I should have moved out of state it looks like.... My program was 11 months long and a little over $20,000!! & that's average for around here where there is about 3-4 other programs 18-20k. Community college is cheaper but no LPN programs ...
  22. Pharmacology: Which Drugs?!

Are you in clinicals right now? You will see the same common drugs in med pass over & over again. It would be most helpfull to you to become familiar with these drugs first. I went by drug then listed classification etc.. Its best to have a pract...
  23. suspension/possible termination

Yes leave before you are terminated. Saying you were fired sounds terrible and UGH its soooo hard to get a new job no matter how terrible the last job and how good of a nurse you are! I would not stop being a nurse! You know what you did wrong and no...
  24. interview for LPN rehab job...SOMEONE PLZ HELP!

Why did you want to become a nurse? What are you best at/worst at What would you do in a emergency situation (ie someone falling, finding someone unconscious, possible broken hip)- have answers ready and do not hesitate at answering these questions. ...
  25. One year later as a nurse, what have I learned?

I have been a nurse for about 2 yrs now and I can say I totally agree about 2nd shift ( i have worked em all!) and majority of your feelings on LTC. I have recently switched to working at an OB/GYN and find myself missing LTC sometimes though! haha. ...
