  3. ISU. a little help please?

I don't know if the LPN to RN online students are exempt from the foreign language requirement. I would contact the nursing dept and ask. They are pretty busy sometimes and you may have to call a few times, but don't give up. Karen

  11. Can't do nightshift

I worked 12 hr night shifts for about 8 months and fought sleep around 3-4 in the morning consistently. I did not get used to it completely and caught a respiratory infection that lasted over a month. On the other hand, when I switched to days, I ran...
  12. Why Can't Hospitals Offer Shifts Other Than 12 hr. 7 to 7?

Message to the nurse working in Germany: I agree with the idea of overlapping the shifts. The shift times seem more sensible as well. Many studies have proven that the chance for errors increases after working more than 8 hrs, especially at night. Th...
  13. Tips for nurses in their first year of nursing

I have a little advice also. I made a hugh mistake when I started my first job at a hospital as an RN. I went in with a professional, friendly attitude. I was treated like a doormat and had to repeatedly stand up for myself and prove myself. A little...

I have taken the LPN program at the Terre Haute Ivy Tech, then the RN at ISU. That was before Ivy Tech had the RN program. The clinicals were thorough. The program is not easy. You pretty much have to dedicate that two years to nursing school only. I...
