  2. Sacramento State Fall 2020

Hi, everyone! I'm in my first semester at the Sac State nursing program, so I thought I'd reach out and say good luck! Let me know if you have any questions!
  3. HELP! Need to make decision!

Honestly, CNA is an absolute waste of time if you're already in nursing school and know that you want to pursue nursing. I would 100% go for the phlebotomy class instead. a CNA license on top of your RN licence isn't going to add anything to your res...
  4. I would also suggest staying away from taking biology and chemistry together. The labs are a lot of work, and it would be easy to mix concepts up in your mind. I took physiology over the summer. It was a lot of work, but doable since it was the only ...
  5. Sacramento State Spring 2020

I took the TEAS at Sac State in January. They allowed a water bottle, and I believe they even allowed for a bathroom break as long as all your belongings stayed in the classroom. Snacks were not allowed, so we all ate something before the test began....

  10. Sacramento State Spring 2020

As long as you completed what was listed in the email, you should be fine! I think CPR certifications are due the start of class, but they didn't specify. I also have not received anything about my clinical placement, but I don't expect to for a litt...
  11. Nursing with chronic GI issues

I wanted to get some advice from you all. I have just been accepted to nursing school, and I'm really excited! I have some mild GI issues, and I wanted to get some advice before starting the nursing program. My stomach is a bit slower than it should ...
  12. Sacramento State Spring 2020

Congrats to everyone who got in!! We should make a Facebook page for our class if there isn’t one yet. That way we can sort of get to know each other before orientation in January ?
  13. Sacramento State Spring 2020

Make sure you all check your spam folder, too. I know some people have been having issues with all the Sac State emails going to spam.
  14. Sacramento State Spring 2020

I got mine! I'm in!!! Who else got theirs?? Good luck to everyone!
  15. Sacramento State Spring 2020

The classes that didn't transfer were not classes that mattered for the nursing program. I took Math D my first semester at Sierra because I originally intended to apply for Sierra's nursing program, and that was the only math class that was required...
  16. Sacramento State Spring 2020

Hi, everyone!! I applied for Spring 2020, too. Super nervous. I applied for Fall 2019, and it looked like I was going to get in, but a couple of my credits from Sierra didn't transfer to Sac State, so I had to do a summer class and re-apply. Hopefull...
  17. Also I know everyone has a different opinion on this, but for me Micro was the easiest of the sciences...especially if you've already taken anatomy/physiology...I was surprised at how much repeat info. there was from those two classes. Definitely the...
  18. I would suggest working super hard to get that A in micro so you can repeat Anatomy if you only get one repeat! Are you asking if nursing school is expensive in northern CA or if it's just expensive to live? We live in the Sacramento area, and it's n...
  19. I'm going to nursing school in northern CA, so I'm not as familiar with nursing schools in the southern part of the state. As a general rule though, nursing schools in California are incredibly impacted, which means that every grade counts. Look at t...
  20. Physiology and Nursing School

Hi, everyone! I have a question for everyone who has already been through nursing school. My college separates Anatomy and Physiology, unlike a lot of other colleges I've seen. I took anatomy over the spring semester and earned an A. I'm taking phys...
