I wanted to get some advice from you all. I have just been accepted to nursing school, and I'm really excited! I have some mild GI issues, and I wanted to get some advice before starting the nursing program. My stomach is a bit slower than it should be, so I take a medication to help speed it up, and I also have to eat small meals 4ish times per day (not super great at this part yet to be honest). Anyways, I feel like a normal person most of the time, but every so often I have a day or two where I feel full too quickly and I get some acid reflux. I know they say that in nursing school, and also on the field, it is hard to predict when and if you'll be able to take a meal break. My only concern is not knowing when to take my medication since I try and consistently take it one hour before each meal. When I say "meal," I don't mean I need to take 20 min to sit down and eat a full lunch or dinner...I just need to be able to put something in my stomach, even if it's just a banana and a yogurt. How often will I realistically be able to take 5 mins to eat something? Is it as bad as people say? ? I totally understand that in nursing school I'll just have to make it work. Once I graduate and start thinking about jobs, is there a department or job any of you would recommend that would allow me to have a bit more routine than the average nursing job? Thanks everyone!

Nursing is unpredictable, whether in school or once in the profession. Once you graduate, you will usually need some experience to be able to get a job where the breaks are somewhat more predictable
