Anyone know of something that works for car sickness when riding for appts and school bus rides? I struggle with nausea when I'm not the driver.

Maybe your Dr could help you with that. Or assignments that don't require car rides.

Look out the window. The brain needs to see that you are in motion. Other than that some dramamine otc. If that doesn't help, then to the doc you go.

Don't forget that we can't offer advice like that ;-) What if the person isn't a nurse? What if they are allergic to the med you suggest? You could be sued. Be careful. On the flip side, what if someone is offering advice and isn't a nurse...that's not safe for the OP either.

When I was in school, we were taught to respond to advice by referring the person to their physician.

All I can do is say I feel your pain. I get extremely car sick even during short rides. And if I don't get sick I definitely WILL if I have to turn my head to suction or something. I really can't be a passenger and a nurse at the same time, and I explain that

I get carsick when transporting patients, but for some odd reason, nibbling on hard candy makes it better, as well as trying to look out the windows as much as possible.
