Biden isn't held to the same scrutiny because Biden isn't a well known liar and cheat.  When a person is known to be dishonest, others tend to watch them more closely than if they are known to be amiable and friendly.  Every parent or member of management understands that you pay close attention to those who have already lied to you or betrayed a trust because it is likely predictive of future behavior. 

What left wing media are you talking about? Social media is promoting division and animus across all lines and groups. Those deeply engaged with social media feel deeply divided from other people who disagree on a variety of topics.  

Biden got caught lying about his educational credentials and dropped from the presidential race!! He lied about what his generals advised him in Afganistan.  How much of that did you hear the left report?? 

I don't use social media regardless of your insinuations that I do.

Yep. Biden exaggerated his education on a number of occasions and had to address the issue head on.  If I recall correctly, Biden owned up and apologized.  That's something that Trump never does, admit fault and apologize. 

Yep. The conservative voices are adamant that Biden lied about what he was told relative to Afghanistan.  I read all about that in the Washington Post and the NYT and other reputable media.  Where specifically did you think this decision making was minimized in the media?

Yes. Trump also struggled with the name of that country and he just couldn't get the semite out of Yosemite. You know, there was a famous psychiatrist who believed that such a verbal slip, struggle or clue was evidence of a deeper or subconscious belief. 

There's really no problem with a white man such as myself saying the word negro, particularly in reference to that sports league.  Your belief that there is a problem is kind of weird.

I disagree there were plenty of people inflamed about it.  Twitter went wild.  However, if you're talking about posters here I guess not.  

I guess it's a matter of opinion whether or not Biden is under the same microscope that Trump was.  It's really hard to compare because almost daily Trump gave us something to work with.  He was so controversial that we could barely get over one thing he said and did before he did something else.  There was no one like him giving us so much so quick in my lifetime that I can think about.

But Biden, like any President is scrutinized.  As it should be.

It doesn't matter "could you imagine Trump saying...." because that's an imaginary scenario that we each can play out in our head however we want.

WaPo and NYT have a history behind them of being as accurate and reliable as any newspaper.  During the Trump years, to me they clearly had an agenda of reporting on him in a negative fashion and discrediting him for his lies and inaccuracies.  But like Fox News of today and their reporting of Biden they aren't necessarily unreliable or untruthful about it.

Trump discredited himself with lies and inaccuracies.  It took the media a long time to start calling the persistent lies actual "lies" rather than some other euphemism. He lied so much and about such wide variety of topics that the media started cataloging and counting them. It was unprecedented lying for any public official.
