President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

He used "negroe" as a adjective.  Not referring to the Negroe League.

But, you're right.  A very minor gaffe, and I don't think had a racist motive.

There's an edited video being shown by Fox that removes the reference to the Negro League to make it sound like he's using the term to describe Paige.  In the full quote though he's starting to say "The great negro ... league pitcher" but inserts "at the time" to clarify it was the name of the league.

Its not being shown.  It was shown once, if I understand correctly, and they fixed the edit fir later showings.

However, he wasn't trying to be racist, and Fox wasn't trying to make it look so.  Most people don't even know there was such a things as the Negro Leagues.  Maybe even the person who edited the video.  So, little difference between the two clips.

The deceptively edited video was shown on Fox and Friends, then again on Hannity, then the video or the false claim it suggests was repeated by various conservatives including on this thread.

I don't necessarily doubt that whomever edited the video was banking on people not knowing that there was something called the Negro Leagues.

Why would there be a need to "fix" the edit if it was never edited in the first place?

The word he used may be outdated, but it's not comparable to the "bad n word".

Biden makes enough gaffes and has a history of legit racist comments.  We don't need to invent them.

What I meant was the previous correct term n word. And it is not comparable I agree.

I don't think he was being racist either. I do feel tho he forgot that that word is no longer PC. Probably because of his totally "perfect intact memory"  issue. It is common for people with dementia to go back to an ealier time.

I know what he was trying to say. I just find it amusing the down play and coddling from the left. If Trump said anything like that there would probably be peaceful riots!

I mean could you imagine? .

Because we've seen enough of both of them to know their true feelings on the matter?  Don't bother telling me that either of these instances don't reflect Trump racism because he didn't actually use a pejorative term.

Trump tells congresswomen to 'go back' to the 'crime infested places from which they came'

and....

“Haitians. We don’t need more Haitians. Why are we having all these people from sh**h*** countries come here? Why not more Norwegians? Or Asians who could help the economy?"

Quote from Bob Woodward book "Fear" verified by at least 3 independent sources.

There are many more of the like exhibiting his ethnic and religious bigotry toward millions of people he was supposed to serve as president.

Okay. I'll have to research. I do not trust any left media to report the truth and not selectively edit out parts. Remember, "very good people on both sides?. They forgot to play the video of his full comments which followed by " I don't mean the neo nazis or the white supremist, they should be condemned totally....

And Biden's, "if you ain't for me and for Trump, you ain't black"....

"Poor kids are just as smart as white kids"...

Or "you can't go to a dunking donuts or a 7 11 without a slight Indian accent....."

May have paraphrased a bit.

The "Negro League" is still the name of the Negro league, it hasn't been changed, he was correct in referring to the League that Paige played in as the Negro League.

The issue was that his clarification that he wasn't including neo-nazi's or white supremecists didn't really make his "fine people on both sides" statement any better.

On one side were both organized racist groups, and just general unaffiliated racists, all with a common purpose of continuing to support the confederacy, a group who's sole purpose was to continue to own blacks as slaves.  There were no good people on one of the sides, unless you don't really have a problem with people who still support slavery.

I know that and I do not think he was being racist. However if it was Trump....

Having statues of history is not racism it just is not, sorry.

The people on both sides have their right to peacefully protest, both sides. That's their freedom. Not the nazis tho, they should be condemned totally.

Honoring someone because they fought to protect the right of white people to own black people is racist, sorry.

The clarification was worth something because it was edited out. Allot!!
