hey.

is anyone going to azusa pacific university in california?

if so, any suggestions on how to prepare for the upcoming accelerated nursing program?

any books you recommend?

How much is the tuition for the Azuza Pacific (San Diego) EENAP program? I looked online and couldn't really find anything. I'm starting May 11th and my orientation isn't until May 7th..... I got an information packet in the mail, but it didn't include anything about tuition or what I need to do as far as getting financial aid and loans in place...

If anyone is currently in this program or already graduated, please help! Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I was accepted into the EENAP San Diego program for the May 11th start day. I was just recently offered this spot which opened up (I was supposed to start in the Fall in SB). So, I wanted to ask everyone about the reputation of Azusa's nursing programs. Good? How good? Pros/Cons? Also, for those who are already in the programs or graduated, what do you think about the programs? I appreciate any feedback!

hey! congrats to those who got into the EENAP program! I am a graduate of the EENAP San Diego... July 2008.

the next graduating class is almost done and will graduate in May.

From my experience, it was a very quick program. the faculty is great and my class was very very close. we only had 12 people in our class so being small helped. APU is well known for their nursing program and I think it is a great school to earn your nursing degree.

I am currently working at Kaiser San Diego. 6 months as an RN! wow... it happened so fast.

My advice to you is to study hard, make time for yourself, ask for help, enjoy your clinical experiences and MOST IMPORTANTLY.... have fun!

Thanks again for the info. Sometimes I feel like I just want to get into nursing school already, trying to picture myself actually in nursing school seems so far away.

I'm taking micro and AP II this semester, than in the fall I need to get the ochem/biochem out of the way. Where did you take your ochem/biochem class?

So if you graduated July 2008 when did you start? They say the program is 15 months accelerated. IF I am set to start Spring 2010, is it January 2010 - March 2011 then? Do you think it's possible to have a baby the last two semesters? I have 1 baby now and was just trying to figure out when we can have a sibling for her. Do you have any kids? IF so, how was that juggling nursing school with little ones?

I guess I have so many questions, I'm sorry. You must be glad to be done with school but I bet it's a different experience now being out on the floor.

By the way, did your kaiser loan pay for your entire tuition? Do you have any tips on how to get approved for the kaiser loan? It's a loan forgiveness right?

hey sorry it took me awhile to respond. but no, i have no kids, but even that, i had a hard time keeping up with school work, just cause i still wanted to hang out with friends haha. but it was doable.

with the kaiser loan, they paid about 3/4 of my tuition. I just paid off my loan that came from my pocket. but to get approved, i'm not sure. We had interviews and i'm not sure how they chose who got it.

ANd I started May 2008 to July 2009. it was quick but sometimes it felt like forever. haha.

Hello, I was wondering about the EENAP course. I just found out about it today and am upset that it's Sunday and can't call the scbhool to find out info. But just wondering, can you do the pre-reqs @ Azusa? Or do you have to go to the cc for that?

I guess I am trying to speed things up because I am gonna be 30 this year, already have a 9 yr old, my hubby I have been married to for 2 1/2 yrs wants to have a baby and I wanna wait till I am done w/school. Any suggestions and/or answers to my other questions?'

I'd say do your pre-reqs at a cc because it will be CHEAPER. APU is a private school, so tuition is pretty. My sister is currently going there and prior to her "summer start" program which just started for the first time at the main campus, she did nursing prereqs there and it was still expensive.

Could either or you tell me what GPA you had going in when you applied to Azusa? Also, how I would make an appointment or e-mail someone about prerequisites? I've been e-mailing several people from their website, but have heard no reply. Azusa's EENAP program is my #1 choice! I sure hope I get in :chair:! Thank you for any advice or help you can give me!

Do you have any information on the Kaiser Loan Forgiveness program? How many did they handout this time? did you apply and did they look for clinical/health care experience at all?

I finally sent off my application and all my final documents yesterday for their Spring 2010 San Diego EENAP program. I've heard it's full already. Is this true? If it is will they just decline my acceptance or push me to the next starting time, like Fall 2010? Does anybody have any information about this? Also, how long did it take you to find out if you've been accepted or not once all your documents were in? Sorry for all the questions. You may want to call the office and see if they can give you more specifics. I'm not sure at all what happens when one semester gets full. Sorry. Hopefully someone will contact you so you have the option to choose another semester. I think it took a couple months for me because I submitted my app right before their November admissions review. I'm not sure when their admissions committee meets again. I was in your shoes when I first applied and just kept calling and contacting BJ until I got more details. I know how you feel! Hi all,

I got my letter in the mail today for the $1,000 deposit to hold my spot (I start Jan 2010). I guess the program is 4 semesters, and then you take your RN-NCLEX and are awarded the BSN, then you have the option to continue on with your masters.

Also, I heard that the next open semester they are accepting apps for is summer 2011.

rterra3 - my stats: 3.90 undergrad gpa, I was currently taking prereqs during my application, no medical experience just mortgage industry experience. I'm not sure what else you are looking for. My 3 recc letters were from a college classmate, a previous supervisor and a personal reference.
