Linfield College
Hey everyone! Congrats to everyone that got into Linfields accelerated BSN program! I won't be applying for a few more months because I finishing up Anatomy, Physiology, Sociology, Anthropolgy and a few other courses. I was first wondering if there's only one deadline to apply for their accelerated program per year. I see that there are several start times, like in the summer, fall, and spring. Can you only apply between January 1 - February 1 for all three start times? I was also wondering how many of you had Anatomy & Physiology still in progress at the time that you applied? I see on their website they say that you must have at least one term done of each before applying, but I noticed that some people got their acceptance letters while they were still taking A & P. I also saw that there were over 600 applicants! Does anybody know what the average GPA was for getting in there? I would really appreciate it if anybody who got into the program could share their GPA stats with me. I'm just curious as to what the competition is since they say they only require a minimum 2.5 GPA. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated! Linfield College's Portland accelerated BSN is my #1 choice! Thanks so much!

accelerated BSN-azusa-EENAP @ san diego-Summer 2009
ksbash- Hi! Could you tell me who you contacted over the phone or e-mail (the admissions advisor). I'm interested in that petition. I've been trying to contact someone at Azusa to talk to them about many things, but I haven't gotten a response from anyone there. I just finished my application and sent everything I needed in a few days ago. Thank you!

Preparing for Nursing at Azusa Pacific, CA
Hi everyone! Congrats to everyone that has been accepted into APU's EENAP program! I finally sent off my application and all my final documents yesterday for their Spring 2010 San Diego EENAP program. I've heard it's full already. Is this true? If it is will they just decline my acceptance or push me to the next starting time, like Fall 2010? Does anybody have any information about this? Also, how long did it take you to find out if you've been accepted or not once all your documents were in? Sorry for all the questions. I'm extremely anxious to find out! :chair:Thank you for any help you can provide me with!

Azusa Pacific Unversity--accelerated program and working?
UCDAVISTUDENT: Congrats on getting into Azusa's EENAP program! That's my top choice! Do you mind sharing with me what exactly your GPA was when you applied? I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm finishing up my last semester at UNR and my first two years here, I started off pretty rocky in my classes but have received great grades the last two years. I was wondering if Azusa was going to look at this as a factor..... I too am not Christian really, but I've heard that since it's a graduate program that you aren't required to go to any church things. I'm pretty sure they just emphasize the importance of good ethics and such into their teachings and it's not pushed on you very much. It is a very very good program though!!! I'm considering as my top simply for that reason! This is a link to the nursing grad school rankings for schools throughout California http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/grad/nur/search/state+CA. You will notice Azusa down the list. Hope this helps! Thanks for any info you can provide me with! :) Good luck to you!

Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, anyone successfully complete these in one term?
Hey Ickles- I'm in the same boat you are! I'm taking Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Physiology - 3 separate classes in the Fall term! They are all 5 credit courses - UGH . I have no other prerequisite courses to take for Nursing and I'm anxious to apply so I want to get them over with! Good luck to you! I'll think about you when I'm going through the same struggles in a few months! Stock up on flashcards !

accelerated BSN-azusa-EENAP @ san diego-Summer 2009
Hello! I was just wondering if anyone who applied to Azusa's EENAP Program could tell me what their GPA, prerequisite grades, and anything else you put on their application were? I'm extremely interested in this program and will be applying soon. I was just curious to see what my competition is and what kind of "typical" student profile they are looking for. Even if you've been rejected or just applied to this program I'm interested to know what your stats were . Also, did you have any prerequisites in progress when you applied? If so, how many? Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide me with!

Hiring a nurse that's a carrier of MRSA - Can that happen?
Hello. I was wondering if somebody can give me a solid, credible answer to this question that I have wondered for years. I am in my fourth year of undergraduate school, but I am not a nursing major. A few years back (when I was a pre-nursing major), I had an RN tell me that if I was a carrier of MRSA that nobody would ever hire me as a nurse, so I shyed away from going down the nursing career path and changed my major. I'm still interested in pursuing nursing and have been looking at many Direct Entry MSN programs for graduates with degrees in non-nursing fields. A few years ago, I had a few MRSA infections and since then I haven't had any infections. About three years ago I was tested from a culture in my nose and was officially told that I was a carrier of MRSA. Before, I really decide to continue with my education, I need to know whether or not a hospital or any company would hire a registered nurse which is a carrier of MRSA? Is this simply a rumor or would it be a waste of time to pursue a nursing career as a carrier of MRSA and never get hired? Thank you so much in advance for any information anyone can provide me with.
