  1. I do not know much about the details of getting a nursing license. I plan on attending an ADN program in either CT or NC, however I do not plan on staying in either location after I graduate. If I take the NCLEX exam in one state, does that only make me licensed in that state and if so how do you go about getting another license in another state? Do you retest for every state?
  2. Hello- This question doesn't pertain to the original post, but it looks like a lot of people responding are in the NC region. I am currently finishing up some pre-req's at a CT community college and I already have a BA in Communications from Univesity of Conneticut. However, I've changed my career path and am pursuing an AD in nursing. My plan has been to apply for Fall 2010 to a CT community college for nursing, but recently I have become homesick for my family who just moved to Wilson, NC two years ago. I'm planning on applying to the Wilson CC ADN program, but I'm wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on the school? Is a reputable program? Do students seem to get the appropriate experience and exposure through the clinical hours? Is the curriculum helpful in preparing a nurse take the NCLEX after graduation, etc? Any information AT ALLL would be super helpful in making my decision to attend there if I get in.
  3. I'm hoping that someone out there will read this and offer me some useful advice. I am currently a senior at UConn and will be graduating in May with a Bachelor's in Communication. I decided that I would like to pursue a career in nursing instead. I am already registered and admitted to a Community College in CT. However, I am getting mixed answers as to wether or not I can get a student loan. I have not maxed out the $46,000 limit for undergraduate loans. I only need about $9000 to get me through prerequisites at NWCC and then the remaining for the nursing program to get an associates in Nursing. I am very stressed out and don't know where to go next. I filled out FASA online and haven't heard anything back but I spoke with a woman at NWCC today and she said there is no way I will get a student loan if I already have a bachelors. Please help... I don't want to give up on my dream. -Paige:cry:
