Hello... Was wondering about follow Floridians preparing for the hurricane.I am in OCala, which is north central florida.. Went to the store tonight and boy..... NO BREAD, NO WATER, NO CANNED FOOD, NO BATTERIES in nearly any stores in our area... finally found what I wanted after several stops... No gas in most stations. Hurricane is expected to hit Florida saturday. It will be even harder to get gas tomorrow as the storm gets closer. Our busiest streets have businesses all boarded up, and the schools are closed for tomorrow.
I have several home care patients to see tomorrow, and hope I can get more gas after I end my day. It seems so strange that the day is so hot and beautiful, yet there is a viscious monster out there that will devastate many lives and homes in a short time.
Courious how the preparation is taking place in your part of the state.....
This storm looks like it needs to be taken seriously. Around here, many people went through the preparation for Charley and it never even caused a rain drop in our area, therefore people seem to think that since Charley was not a threat, that Francis will not be either...
Francis seems furocious!! God Bless all who are preparing for this one....
I am from Missouri and I just want to say May Gods Protection be upon you.
I'm here in crystal river. downright spooky here, lots of traffic on the streets but the stores were amost empty tonight when i was there at 8pm. found everything i needed including gas. am working with the elderly and we may have to evacuate if it floods. hang in there and lets hope for the best.
Hey all, I am up here in Tallahassee, Fl. We are all keeping a very close eye on things and the interstates are packed with people trying to get out of the state. I was told when I came into work tonight that we might be required to come into work at 7am Sunday morning in case the storm hits us hard and we cant travel to come in. I think the feeling here is that we will get a lot of wind but may be spared the brunt of the destruction. Good luck to all of you south of me, and may God bless.
