I'm 29, married, and will soon have four children (due with #4 in April). And yes, I"m going back to school too for nursing. I guess my only advice would be to budget your time wisely. Like many of us here, we have other obligations to work, family, etc, so it might sometimes be hard to fit homework time in too. I bought a cheap yearly planner at the local dollar store and I'm putting all of my homework "due dates", tests, etc in it in one color in it and using another color for kids appointments, etc, a third color for birthdays etc. I'm trying to keep things as organized as possible around here:)
Good luck!
here are a couple of great websites to read through on being a student and studying:
http://www.accd.edu/sac/history/keller/accditg/ssindex.htm - strategies for success, an online primer and tutorial on how to study for students from the alamo community college. this is a pretty extensive resource with links on the right side of the page to click into the following subjects: learning styles, note taking, memory techniques, time management, overcoming procrastination, sq3r (a method for getting the most out of reading your textbooks), study tips, critical thinking, preparing for tests, and oral presentations. also, take a look at the faq's (frequently asked questions).
http://go.dbcc.edu/hhps/nursing/study_skills.html - study skills for the nursing student from daytona beach community college nursing department with some good advice.
http://go.dbcc.edu/hhps/nursing/test_taking_skills.html - test taking skills also from daytona beach community college nursing department. a couple of sample questions and how to chose the correct answer for these application type questions.

Welcome Chrissy!! I am also in NY. I am 32 with 3 kids and I have completed my pre-reqs just awaiting the yes or no for entrance this semester. Stick with it!! Its admirable after so many years. I know it was hard in the beginning but now it is like 2nd nature to be in school again. I was out of the loop for over 13 yrs when I went back. Good Luck and if you need any help or a cheering section let me know :) Nursing is a great choice as a career!!
