Kaplan Test prep

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey Guys, I apply for nursing school next month and I have to take the Kaplan. I was planning to purchase the Kaplan 7th edition nursing entrance exam book but I have decided not to due to the many bad reviews that stated it was a waste of money and would not be helpful. Can anyone recommend a good study book I could purchase for that would be helpful in terms of preparing for the Kaplan? Also, Math is my weakest subject, so if anyone knows of any good books that would be helpful in preparing me for the math portion specifically that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Could you be more specific with your question?

Nursing school entrance exams usually have TEAS or HESI as their source.

I would just recommend their study prep book.

I was told that the Kaplan study guide is not a good resource for what's on the test. My review on this site has led me to these options:

For the math, go over pre-algebra stuff. I suggest "Davis's Basic Math Review for Nurses." If you want online help, Khan Academy.

For Reading/Writing, get an SAT/ACT prep guide. I've read that the writing section is similar to the ACT.

For science, it's so random but there are no anatomy questions. Focus your studying on the physiology of the recommended systems.

Good luck!
