give me your personal advice of my gameplan to get the pre-reqs done. i am hoping to be done in a year and i have been out of school for three years. it is also important to understand that my dad is fully supporting me and i have no kids so i have little getting in the way of me completing school. tell me if this plan sounds relistic:
first semester (winter 07)
pre-algebra
intro to films
sociology
physcology
american goverment
spring/summer
algebra
nutrion
composition ii
a&p1
phys ed elective
fall
chem
a&p 2
microbio
y'all think this is doable with a lot of study time?????
I would split some of those sciences up. 3 sciences in the fall semester is going to be A LOT of work as they all require a lab as well as classroom time. I would take one science each semester and exchange that for another class. Do you already have english comp I done? I would also get rid of the films class and american government and replace them with classes that would be helpful towards your nursing goal such as Human Growth and Development. That class is required by many programs anyway, so you would be getting it out of the way. Good luck

The films and american goverment classes are both pre-reqs that I need to take. I am very tempted to just go ahead and take the micro class but I don't remember taking any chemestry in high school so I don't know. Chem and a previous bio class are pre-reqs to Micro so I am still trying to figure out if I should take it.
Also time is an issue with me and the Chem class is all booked up this semester. Thats why I loaded up and so many of the eaiser classes cause it was all I could get. Maybe I will take the Micro class. I just want to be sure that I will be able to handle it. I know I can do anything I put my mind to and I can get a tutor if I really need it but the grade in that class has to be very good. I would really like to knock out a science if I could this semester. My counsler said I should go for it even though I don't have the pre-reqs for that particular class.
My...
Have you checked to make sure you can take A&P I, II and Microbiology without having a basic biology (like Bio 103) first??
Have you made sure that the classes are usually offered during the semester you plan to take them?
I know I had a plan when I started and didn't realize that Micro was not offered in the Summer semester--so I had to do a little catch up the next semester to stay in my time frame.:smackingf
I know that you are very excited and rightfully so as starting college has a way of doing that---however---I would really like to caution you that --heavy loads can really be stressful without other outside interference (kids, work, spouse). And I can say from experience the first couple of semesters where wonderful---I was soooo excited --but school/studying 24/7 can get old fast--Just leave yourself some time to just enjoy life!!!
But,you probally already knew that-- sounds like you are determined. You will do fine---Best wishes on your endevors.

Have you had any Chem in high school? IMHO, that would be enough to be successful in Micro. If not, taking Chem fist because you need a foundation of atoms, organic molecules, bonding, etc. to be successful in Micro, though my school does not require Chem b/f Micro so it is do-able but just more difficult.
