give me your personal advice of my gameplan to get the pre-reqs done. i am hoping to be done in a year and i have been out of school for three years. it is also important to understand that my dad is fully supporting me and i have no kids so i have little getting in the way of me completing school. tell me if this plan sounds relistic:
first semester (winter 07)
pre-algebra
intro to films
sociology
physcology
american goverment
spring/summer
algebra
nutrion
composition ii
a&p1
phys ed elective
fall
chem
a&p 2
microbio
y'all think this is doable with a lot of study time?????

It looks like your taking an extremely heavy load during the summer semester. How many hours would that total out to? I would also be hesitant about taking A&P II, Chemistry, and Micro all during the same semester. Is there a way that you can split your sciences up? Perhaps take Chemistry this next semester?
I will say that you can do anything you put your mind to. Just remember that getting your pre-req's done in a short order may look excellent on paper, but it may not be as pretty in real life. I'm not being critical and I'm just speaking from my experience. Good luck in your classes treeguy. Cool name by the way.

I was also thinking similar thoughts as Pixiesmom regarding taking 3 science courses in one semester. I, personally, would attempt to take no more than 2 sciences in one semester.
Good luck to you. You can do virtually anything if you place your mind and heart into it.
Hey, thanks for the advice. Honestly, I can shave off the comp II and phys ed in the summer. Do you think I should take CHEM now??? I have no real experince in math, does that matter. There is a micro class open now but I don't know if I can handle it. What do you think??

I think I will take the micro class and drop the sociology. I am shooting for my LPN first then bridging over to my RN and sociology is only nessacary for the RN. It would be good to take at least on science now. If the class is still open I will take it.

i believe you should take chemistry before a&p and micro. it will benefit you. also, take the first semester slower, and see what you can handle instead of overwhelming yourself from the start. best of luck.

I would only take one science class per semester and fill in with other prereq's around it.
Sociology is a bunch of reading. From what I hear, so is psychology. I was going to attempt to take both the first semester but dropped psychology at the last minute. Glad I did because sociology was enough reading!

Sociology and psych together might also be really easy to get the information mixed up. If you're not math-strong I'd brush up before Chemistry, and I agree with the other poster who recommended maybe to start with micro. It's not an easy class, but it won't get any easier. If you're going to take 5 classes your first semester back in school, remember to make a note of the last day to drop without penalty. There's nothing at all wrong with trying 5 classes and dropping one if you get too behind in the reading or something. It's easier to drop after a couple weeks than it is to add a class. Good luck!

I would definitely get a firm grip on algebra before tackling chemistry... it's a LOT of algebra. If you can take micro now I'd definitely do that and save some of the non-science courses for the fall. Good luck!

Our pre-nursing CHemistry class was pretty math intense....I would take math first. In my school it is better to knock out Chem before Micro.
Math,Chem and then Micro, that's how I would go about it. Chem is required before taking Micro at our school starting this semester. It's not an easy class.
Hey, thanks for the advice. Yep, I can still get into the micro class but they reccomend taking chem before. Is there anyway I can still take Micro as it is and do good with a lot of study and tutoring. I just don't want to risk failing the class. I know it is going to be hard but is it possable to still do good with little college experince. I really want to have all of my classes done by this time next year and to do that I would need to take a science every semester.
