It does not seem like much but I am having a difficult time. I have read and study all types of books and I'm not improving.

Hi,

I am trying to prepare for a NET type of test for a RN program. Ive been studying on my own. I took a pretest on my own and I need to pull my english up by 20% any by reading comp by 10%. I would try to get help in your college's Learning Resource Center where students prepare for their GED's etc. There you may find material and actual people working with you on your test preparation.

I took as many practice tests as I could find. Every time I took one my score went up. I ended up buying a study guide that had two or three practice tests and found a couple online but I think most llibraries have study guides as well if you don't want to buy one. Sooo, my best advice is practice, practice, practice!

I second checking with the learning center to see if they have help available. My cc has what's called an academic prep class for the sole purpose of helping you up your COMPASS scores. That's the test they choose if you don't take the ACT or SAT. It's a 1cr class and done online. I'm only in the math because my math scores were low, but it can cover the other two if need be.

It makes it really simple. Each link pertains to one specific topic, leads you through it and then gives you 8 questions to answer. After so many topics, you take a quiz and after you do a whole unit, you take an exam.
