How much will your education cost you?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

The school I was 'wait listed' for is $30k for my ASN.

The school that accepted me is @ $18k for my ASN.

My first choice (who I have no heard from yet) is at the local community college that I've attended for the last 2 years and it will run me somewhere around $10k max! I'm SO hoping to get in here.

The other 2 schools I could care less about. i think one is around $11k for an ASN and the other is in the mid 20's.

Between 2 school ( had to move halfway through due to hubby military commitment) cost about 40,000. Started in a private university and moved to public.

My sole education will cost me around 10,000 (that includes books and necesarry suplies), but im only pursuing an Associate in Nursing for right now...

The 12 mo. accelerated BSN program I am doing (already have a bachelor's) is $17,000 plus about $2000 for the couple classes I need before then at a community college.

The loss of income, cost of daycare, and gas (1-2 hours away) scares me even more, though... :o Oh, well, it's only 1 year!

For the MENP program, $88K.

If I get into my first choice, closer to $40K.

It's pretty much self-inflicted for us, but I'm very pleased with the program and am usually surprised when I hear about how different it is at other nearby ABSNs.

Since I'm doing it to myself, I don't think I can complain about $30K in loans. DH is helping a lot, and I know I'm lucky to be able to get that kind of assistance.

One direct entry program--65K for 3yrs. First year is a doozy--35k and then 479 per credit for the grad portion.

Second direct entry--30k for first year and then 502 per credit after that.

Mine is a 2 yr ASN at a Private "Hard to get into" School. Tution runs $12,000 a year. Thats just tuition though. Books for the first year are $1400!!!!!! Uniforms are about $150. Luckily, My facility is paying...or I couldnt afford it!

Goodness, my ADN program was about $600 a semester! Books for the entire program were probably $600-800. I got a deal!

Plus, it was all paid for through tuition reimbursement, so no debt! The ADN-BSN will be paid for with tuition reimbursement as well.

Our entire nursing program with everything included (books, uniforms, required vaccs, ect) will be just a bit over $10,000.

My school is about $10000.00 for the nursing school, including books, tuition and all, and I have spent about $5000.00 for the 1 1/2 years of pre reqs. Once I am done with the ADN, I plan on going to out university for my MSN which will cost another $18000.00+. Needless to say, it is too d#*m much for this broke girl!!! I just hope it is worth it!

WOW!! Looking at the other posts, I am now very glad I live in rural Mississippi. I am able to get a grant that pays roughly 90%-100% of tuition depending on allocated amount, and at the CC I attend it is $65/hr. So, I have not been out-of-pocket much. I am going to have to take a loan for books, child care, and gas...That's what scares me!!!
