Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Whine and ramble ahead.. I received my 2nd rejection letter in the mail yesterday for the LPN-RN program. Was rejected for Spring 13 and now rejected for Fall 13.

My GPA for nursing pre-reqs is 3.2. I took a&p once and got a B in each class on the first try. I have all pre-reqs required for the program. All I would need is nursing classes. I feel so frustrated. I feel like I am going to be a LPN pushing a med cart around forever.

My 2nd choice was the basic 2 year RN program.. they didn't mention that in the rejection letter so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and waiting to hear back from that before I start reapplying again.

I did get accepted into Excelsior but after thinking.. I see that being a big challenge for me.

I sometimes wonder if its even worth it.. maybe I should decide on doing something else.

Don't give up! If it's something u really want dont NEVER give up! pray pray pray you will get in wish u the best of luck! I'm nervous because my grades wasn't so good in highschool but I hold a 3.8 gpa now!

Why would you give up? This is obviously your dream! Don't let a couple of letters determine your life! I have a friend who has been an LPN for years (over 30 probably) and should be getting her RN through Excelsior soon. Why are you not sure about them?

Never Never Never Give Up- Winston Churchill

This year, I received 13 rejections for physician assistant programs, which is why I am going to try the nursing-to-nurse practitioner route. Don't give up on what you want. You might spend the rest of your life wondering if you ever could have done it. And never think something is too hard for you before you try it.

I am taking a couple online classes now because I started applying for an entry level BSN and there were a couple elective classes that I needed to apply so I paused my application and decided to get those done before proceeding. I'm taking 2 online classes and I just feel that online classes aren't the best for me.

I may decide to do that but the thing that scares me with excelsior is that important clinical test at the end.

My advice to you is not to give up. I was rejected from my RN program twice in a row. The third time I applied I told myself this was the last time I was applying to this program and would go elsewhere if needed.....and I was accepted. Incidentally--I had Bs in both sections of A&P as well, and As in all other prereqs. Good luck & don't give up!!
