Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I was so stressed about my micro bio class. my prof. even spoke to me saying i won't be getting a good grade and he suggested i should drop this class (even though we still have so much tests etc. left). he decided to send out the percentage we have right now...and i have a high B so far...can you believe it...i really thought it was like a D (THAT'S HOW THE PROF. MADE IT SEEM LIKE)...thank God I didn't drop this class just by listening to my prof. some of them can be very misleading...and that's so horrible. when he spoke to me that day...i couldn't sleep or eat for days...was so stressed and demotivated!

You did not crunch your own numbers and determine that he made an error when discussing your grade???? It is possible that he thought you were getting a "D" by thinking off the top of his head. I don't blame your professor... I honestly do not think he was trying to be misleading.

If you had taken the responsibility of calculating your own grade you could have let him know that you had a different score then he had calculated. At the very least this would have given you more sleep. :uhoh3: It was very irresponsible of you to have taken his word rather then to have done your own calculations.

I stay right on top of my grades, and make sure I know how the teacher calculates the grade... and i'll ask for my grade so far every so often, whether they are annoyed or not. I'm glad that you are relieved and that you are getting a high B, but stay on top of your grades this is to important to not know whats going on

It was the Professor's fault...atleast 3 people had same issue like i did. he was just judging us by looking at only the 2 lecture tests...we've had atleast 8 quizes and a practical done but he never bothered to include that before he made his speech. I mentioned to him about the quizes and practical and all he said was well i give more importance for lecture tests...then his syllabus should say lecture test 100% instead of 50%...anyway i hear few students are going to complain on monday.

but i take this as a challenge. in future i will come across people like this and i learn from my experience to be patient and never give up!

AMEN!! Patience is a virtue. Good luck to you taniasjijo ;) BTW people are only human therefore mistakes are made all of the time so keep your head up and your eyes open when it come to your grades:)

Please, please, please stay on top of your OWN grades!!!! :)

There are many times when instructors make mistakes--they are human--and ultimately YOU are responsible for making sure you get the grade you earn/deserve.

I am glad you are doing ok grade-wise, yet I do think you should have realized this beforehand! This is a good thing to start doing now--'cuz in nursing classes, your grades determine whether or not you stay in the program. If an instructor makes a mistake there--you could be kicked out!!! I keep a running tally on my grade throughout the semester, which includes checking ALL my tests for errors--and yeah, I have found some BIG ones!

GL! :)
