Practice questions: Kaplan vs Hurst

Nursing Students NCLEX

Has anyone done practice questions from both? I'm doing the Qbank from Kaplan- and have read most of the book. Now I'm getting low to mid 60's. Before I studied I was getting mid to high 50's.

I've heard of people getting high 60's, low 70's with the Hurst practice test questions after studying. Is Hurst slightly easier?

I would really appreciate any input from anyone who has done questions from both.

Thank you,

N

Do you know- when and where do you pay the 8 dollars to find out? And also, is it just as reliable to go to the Pearson Vue website and try to re-sign up (I've been told if it lets you to the cc page- that's a bad sign, but if it says something and doesn't let you, then that's supp to mean you passed.) ?

If your state participates in the quick results, you can pay $7.95 48 hours after testing. The Pearson Vue Trick is supposedly 100% accurate if you get the good pop up. If you get a pop up while trying to re-register stating "ours records indicate you previously scheduled...contact your member board for further assistance. Another registration can't be made," that is the "good" pop up and you passed. If you get to the CC page, you may or may not have failed (from my understanding, the CC page is not a clear indicator of pass/fail)

On some questions did you feel like the rationale for incorrect answers was simply implying you were an idiot for picking it and that was it? Made me nuts!

hah, this is exactly how i felt. i did hurst and failed the first time and now i'm doing saunders book +CD and lacharity's PDA and hopefully this will help more.

48 hours is so long, lol.

Wow, really? cc page not necessarily a bad sign? Thank you for sharing that.

I took it! When it didn't shut off at 75, I was DEVASTATED. LOL, it shut off at 76.

Not bad for having graduated over 6 months ago! :)

For anyone who reads this- I am very grateful I had the blessing of getting the Kaplan review. I feel it helped me tremendously. I'm sad my three months is over- I'm baffled by how much I already miss studying. If there was something about a rationale that had less than a 100% feel to it- I googled or grabbed one of my books. I feel that the questions were very similar. I ran out of time and didn't finish Question Trainer 6 or 7- and only did about half or so of the Q Bank- but my I read that book from cover to cover and took notes and REALLY studied. Which I did need to do after being out of school for so long.

Good luck everyone! I got the "good" pop up- so I'm pretty happy!

Hello, to the person who just PM'd me about the NCLEX/ID question-

your mail box is full so I can't email you back- but here's my answer-

I'm pretty sure you're gonna be ok. Take your invite.. I think I remember having to take the invite or whatever it was that said where to go, it should have your name on it addressed to you how you normally have it with no middle name?

But I'm pretty sure you'll be ok.
