I got into my #1 choice ADN program at Ohlone College for Fall 05!!! I was #3 on the alternate list (it was a lottery) and found out days later I got a spot! To anyone on a wait list, don't give up hope!
I cannot wait for school to start, but I am also SO nervous!
Congrats to everyone who is starting this Fall!

Congrats!! I know exactly where you are. I am in Manteca and I will be starting at San Joaquin Delta College in the fall. How long have you been trying??? It took me 2.5 years with the lottery. I am so excited for you (us)
Talk to you soon!

Darn! For a second I thought you might be going to Ohlone because we start Aug. 15th as well!
I am so happy for you - you finally made it!
I still cannot believe it, but I got in on my 1st try and can only thank my lucky starts for that one. I did however apply to SEVEN schools in the Bay Area in hopes of increasing my chances of getting into one of them. I got into 3 out of 7. I NEVER imagined I would get into Ohlone being on the lottery system and all, especially because it was my first try. When I found out I started crying I was so happy!!
It just goes to show, perseverance and a little luck can get you far.
Well we are not that far from one another... maybe we will bump into one another at a clinical site. :)

i was accepted to an adn program at cypress college in orange county, ca. i start on august 22nd. i received my letter the first week of may and had orientation on may 18th. i'm soooo excited!!!
:balloons:
yeah!!!!
we will have a hard 2 years ahead of us but i know that it will be soooo worth it!
I was accepted at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing; it's a diploma program located in Elmira, NY. In fact, I believe it's the only remaining diploma program in the state, but I could be wrong about that. The program lasts 33 months. The school requires Chemistry as part of it's curriculum, and because I last took college Chemistry 25 years ago, I can't transfer it in. So I'm taking that this summer to get it out of the way before the first semester begins. I've previously posted about my Chemistry-phobia, and received some very nice encouragement. I'm determined to take things one day at a time, pay attention, listen and study like I've never studied before!
Many congratulations, and much good luck to all of us! :w00t:

What do you mean by lottery? I have heard a lot of people use this term but the only lottery I know of is where you win $!! :chuckle
To everyone who posted, I want to congradulate all of you!!
I posted when thread first started and now I am just sitting back watching the thread grow. It is wonderful to watch student after student post that they got in.
As I said in my earlier post, to everyone still waiting, hang in there and don't give up the hope. I had to wait one semester. I was #4 alternate for January, but only 3 people got in. Now, I am glad I didn't start in Jan., b/c I am able to spend as much time as I can with my husband and 2 young sons before I start clinical. Don't worry. Before you know it you will be reading your acceptance letter, as well. :smiley_aa
