Possible WCCCD Nursing Applicants

Published

I applied for Wayne County Community Nursing program 01/2011. I have yet to hear from the college if accepted or not :crying2:. Has any WCCCD applicants heard back regarding their applications? Everytime I call the Nursing office they tell me letters have not been sent out yet. The stress from waiting is killing me slowly.

I passed my TEAS and everything last year and did not get into WCCCD Nursing program. I was 3 points away from being able to get in the program. I heard that rumor about accreditation but I went on their website and the information said that they were actually accredited. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other community colleges in Michigan that has a accredited Nursing program. I heard about Henry Ford Community College but don't know any other colleges. I am taking some of my classes that I got a B in to get an A. I only have one B in my Science classes though. Good luck!!

Hello justwannabeanurse, what was you teas score and gpa if you don't mind sharing

Hey everyone! Just a quick question...is anyone working while in the program? I currently have a part-time job and I am trying to decide what I should do regarding how many hours I should work per week. Any suggestions?

hey ashley

Its really gonna depend on your schedule. But i wouldnt do more than 15 hours a week personally. Especially the first semester.

our orientations in a week, looking forward to the meeting.

take care

Ashley

Working part time is very doable. I graduated from WCCCD in December and worked 24hrs/wk the whole 2 years. I know lots of people that worked more than me. Its all about time management. Good Luck!

How was orientation for everyone? Did you all register?

I got my 3rd choice pod; I could have gotten my 2nd choice, but there was a bit of a mix-up. Oh well, it's only 7.5 weeks so I can deal. I got my 1st choice clinical site though, so I guess it was an OK time for me. Now I'm just waiting on financial aid to register.

How about you?

Thank you all for your input in regards to working during the program! I hope orientation went well for everyone! I have not registered yet, but will be registering as soon as possible! Good luck everyone!

Hello future nurses:nurse: orientation wasn't bad,i still have not registered either waiting on financial aid:mad:,but i will by next week even if i have to barrow the money for class and books, see you guys soon,GOOD LUCK:redbeathe

hello me2006 and everyone, orentation went okay,... and i did register,... now waiting til class start,...

me2006, in your privious post you said "for nur 111-foundations lab and nur 118-physical assessment we need to dress in lab attire" just wanted to make sure because no one mentioned at orientation about nur 118- physical assessment what we should wear or not. or they might but i did not remeber so we need to wear our white t-shrit and sweat for that class too... what else do we need beside that for the first day of class. please let us know that way we can be ready. thanks in advance and schrellnicole & npotter good luck on your finical aid!

if anyone has syllables for nur 111 & nur 118, please share them here thanks.

and also i went to the bookstore and bought my textbook for nur 118-nurses' handbook of helath assessment (price $52 before tax). the bookstore has the textbook this week.

Thanks icantwait01,you need good luck dealing with financial aid,it's alot of students that started the nursing program already and they financial aid is messed up,i been running back and forth to the downtown campus all week, they dont keep up with document's:uhoh3: and they act like it's no big deal, they was tired of seeing my face just like i was tired of seeing their's:mad: but i got it straight today with lots of prayer:) talk with you future nurses soon:nurse::stdnrsrck:

@Icantwait_01 -- Unless they have changed something (I will be entering my 3rd semester this fall), you do have to wear lab clothes (sweats/white tshirts)to 118.

Good luck all! It is a challenging program, so be ready!!! =)
